    I have one. Pretty solid. Had to upgrade batteries due the extreme cold in MN. Seem to eliminate my staring issue. When I say extreme cold I mean negative 0 temps. Mine is a 2018. Pretty solid otherwise with decent traction. Still wish I had my rancher. But there are pluses and minuses to both.

    Great Review! As you know, I own this machine as well. I agree with you about the machine , the power, and overall capability of machine , is great for the $$$. Regarding Top speed I have been able to get up to 63 mph , with that said , I would not even consider the 570, if I do upgrade in the future , to make it worth it, I would say I would have to go with 800cc machine .... I have those same lights as you , thanks to you ! :) and they work great I also have XT bumpers and they are holding up well too ... I still have stock tires at now 650 miles on my 2020 , holding up pretty good, but when these go will for sure go with a 6ply or higher tire, do like the ones you have ! FYI, I did have Cam AM do my first service as I felt that be a good idea since still under Warranty , it cost for entire service around 120 dollars , for those who wondering about that .... I am due to do a follow up review soon as well, will ping when I do... thanks again , I found your videos on the Outlander , very informational , and helpful. :)

    Nice review and glad to hear it’s been good for you. I’ve always had Honda ATVs in the past but feel shortchanged wiry their latest Rubicon 520 offering. I am considering an Outlander 850 Max North edition which I think will be perfect for plowing at our Michigan 2nd home. I just don’t think the Rubicon 520 will have enough power for plowing. Plus the North Edition already has all the goodies for cold weather including heated grips, throttle and a winch. How is the forward/reverse gear selection for you? I’ve heard the Can Ams tend to be difficult and notchy? This will be important for plowing and that’s were the rubicon has an advantage with the one button reverse on their DCT. Thanks again.

  • @TrailPass

    @TrailPass

    3 жыл бұрын

    That North Edition would be excellent in Michigan. That 850 would be more than powerful enough and actually the Max models plow much better in my experience. Some of the shifters can be a little notchy, but there is some adjustment in the linkage that can really help. Hope this helps and let me know what you decide!

  • @spyder000069

    @spyder000069

    3 жыл бұрын

    The rubicon has a low range plus since it has an actual transmission and not a belt cvt. I feel like it will last longer when working it. I don't think power would be the problem as usually those cases always come down to traction and having enough weight to put power to the ground. I have both a rancher 420 and the rubicon 520 and the new reverse setup on the 520 is pretty slick. The one thing I don't like about the 520 is the electronic throttle limiting to around 50mph and it seems to be geared lower than the rancher. The rancher will outrun it in top speed and so will my old '07 foreman 500 as they top out around 52. The stock tires on the 520 are about an inch short compared to the actual tire size so a new set of taller shoes may make up the difference.

    I went with a brand new 2020 450 DPS in November. Have been using for snowplowing and shifting sucks! I have lubricated every location and still sticks or has to be moved a little to get it to shift. Anyone else have this issue with shifting from forward to reverse and reverse to forward? As for power, there is plenty! I cleared my land and used a 6 x 12 trailer loaded with logs, (have a 2" ball on the back), would use it to pull the trailer to the road to hook to my truck. Also snowplowing has plenty of power. Took the ATV ice fishing with the plow on and used the plow to clear a spot on the ice for the shanty. Only negative I have is the shifting.

  • @TrailPass

    @TrailPass

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hello David. I have not had any issues with my shifting personally, but have heard from others who reported similar issues. There is some adjustment in the linkage. Since you machine is so new, I would suggest calling your dealer to see if they would fix it for you.

    Hey, thanks for watching! I don't tow much other than a small lawn wagon. I do have a 60" blade and feel it does fine. With a wet, heavy snow it seems like the Outlander struggles a little, but that's more due to it's light weight than lack of power. I just purchased a 570 Max XT and plan on comparing those models. I went with the 570 since the max is a two up machine for my wife and I, not because I felt the 450 was too slow. I plowed with this machine for a few years with no issues. The power was never the problem, more the fact that this was a lighter weight machine. If you push a bunch of wet, heavy snow I would try to add some weight to the machine to increase traction or look for something like a side by side. If you push dry snow that's only a few inches deep this is more than capable!

    I remember my first ATV (Honda 300) back in the '90s, it was a great machine and the first summer it probably had about 3k miles on it. I drove that thing all over the place, at least a tank a day or every other day. I drove it hard for a year like that before it wore off and imagine it had well north of 6k miles within that time.

    that's way farther than I'd ever ride. I've had my dirt bike for about 5 years and i've ridden it only about 20 miles

    Canadian company with some models made in Mexico. I'm sorry if it was unclear, I was trying to compare the Can-am to other atvs like Yamaha and Honda that are Japanese.
