I bought a C4 Airdream - no spare supplied. I bought a new spare within a couple of days. Literally two days later, got a total blowout ! - I'd also bought a scissor jack at the same time. First time I tried to jack the car up to swap the blown wheel, the jack broke ! - A couple of passers-by helped me swap the wheels over. I discovered the blown tyre was riddled with cracks. Then found the other three tyres were also cracked all over and they'd all been painted over, and yet this car was bought from a main Citroen dealer ! - The puncture had wrecked the alloy wheel and the dealer replaced the wheel and all the other tyres, free of charge. This Airdream had replaced my old Picasso Czara but the Airdream's internal stowage space is minimal, unlike the Picasso's which had a wealth of compartments for stowing stuff. I have been considering moving to a Berlingo - But there's a bunch of downsides compared to my Airdream - The rear seats do not fold flat, despite claims I've read that they can fold flat. The Picasso rear seats could easily be removed, unlike the Airdream's and Berlingo's seats. The Berlingo needs Ad Blue - my Airdream doesn't need Ad Blue. It's also zero vehicle tax. Hence, the Berlingo has been removed from my list of possible replacements for the present car. The Airdream has been totally trouble-free, since its initial tyre saga. I'm generally very pleased with Citroen, but not sure what replace it with now. Age-wise, it's about time for replacement but I'm not sure how to go at this point.

I have a 61 Enterprise Berlingo van. 1.6 HDI Bought from a Citroen dealer with 6K on the clock, 2 yrs old. I wanted a Connect but similar spec at that time (2014) was over 1K more so was pleased to find mine. Best thing about it is the folding passenger seat and air con. I put a part mesh bulkhead in, needed as transport dogs. But it's been an absolute heap of junk to maintain - mostly electrical issues. Lights constantly blowing, windows - replaced both regulators over time and they've packed in again. Radio started coming on before I got in, anti roll bar links - must have replaced them 5 or 6 times. Driver door doesn't shut properly and the door locks don't work, even though I got 2 new keys. Have to carry a spare remote with me. Had new blower motor put in during lockdown but resister just gone. Replaced clutch and timing belt during lockdown thinking that's most of the big stuff sorted but now have issues with the sodding DPF. So looking for something else and won't get another Berlingo - or a diesel!

Good video, after owning for a year you’ve got good experience to share and therefore can offer better feedback than someone who’s just bought. The wife and I are interested in this or the Vauxhall Combo for our next car. More room for the driver than estates and MPVs.

I have an ex Citroen main dealer bought at auction mk2 van, hdi1.6 . Got side door, spare wheel, Torch in the back, cup holders everywhere, all original on a 2011. I got it with 51,000 miles and in the 5 years I’ve had it i replaced the Battery, 2 new Tyres, a front spring and top bearing , Rear Pads and a brake light Bulb. I serviced it myself twice a year and now it’s showing a little rust with everything still working and running well with no Engine oil usage and 127,000 miles!. Problem is I would like another but don’t want adblue, urea, etc as a mate has one on a 2017 with nothing but cost and problems. Thanks for your video, looks a nice car.

Mike - I was thinking the same but I read on the Berlingo Forum that the new build petrol and diesel engined Berlingos with seats will be classed as a light goods vehicle and will have a mesh bulkhead behind the seats. Being a commercial it will be limited to 60mph on motorways. All this is stated on the Citroen UK website. I spoke to my Citroen main dealer this morning and they are still awaiting clarification. I will not be ordering a new vehicle if these restrictions materialise.

Really? Limited to 60 because it’s comercial? I’ve never heard that before. I understand putting a bulkhead and call it commercial, maybe this is a trick to get back the Diesel engines

Great review thank-you. I loved my Berlingo but it just didn't have enough space in the boot for what I needed. I bought a Spacetourer 8 seater van and it is great but I don't really need something quite that big so I'm now getting the Berlingo XL 7 seater with the extra boot space I need, if I take the 2 seats out of the back. I love automatics so it will be an auto. The cup holders in the newer cars on each side of the dashboard. Hoping mine comes with a spare wheel but probably not and so I will most likely copy what you have done. Was it very expensive to buy the bots for the spare wheel? One hundred for the spare with a tyre was a great price. Thanks again for taking the time to review. Cheers :-)

16:15 I'm driving Citroen Xsara Picasso for the last 23 years and it's time to upgrade. Xsara has all displays above the steering wheel, in the middle of the cockpit. I've sat in Berlingo in the salon and I've done 1h test drive in similar Toyota ProAce City Verso and having 189cm I could not see all the icons on the dashboard through the wheel. I wonder if Rifter will be more similar to Xsara experience when I can see all of the dashboard without any issues and no matter how the steering wheel is rotated at the moment. Unfortunately, no nearby salon with Rifter to check it by myself. [EDITED] I've found Rifter and did a test drive. The shape of the wheel was a bit odd, not very ergonomical, but the display above the wheel was much better than in Toyota/Citroen for me. Yes, you lose one compartment there but I'm choosing Rifter to buy from all those clone family. It's also much nicer on the outside compared to strange and fancy Citroen.

One thing, it's common for some types to let the air out from the spare, push the hook up a bit and walk off with the spare wheel, I could not see if yours can do the same, I put a black bin liner over mine after trying to drop the wheel and finding it rusty and covered in dirt, I only noticed mine gone as I pulled away and could hear and feel something dragging, looked and saw the spare gone and the carrier dropped and dragging the ground.

I have a 71 plate rip curl, last on the line, waited 10 months for her (Naomi) Not a fan of the break, my fear is failure, I have a dispatch with one of those yellow things, thanx for letting me know what its for, as for the repair kit, I tried it, Tyre was flat, completely useless, needless to say bought a spare and cage right away, and had it fitted, jack under seat in storage, we go to Scotland and really didn't want to break down. We have the modutop, something I really like, apart from the light it just white, I was expecting it to be rgb, Not keen on where the USB socket is, makes it a pain having a wire dangling down, I use an angle usb bracket which helps, my only regret was not having the mode selection for driving...the coin holder lol WOW! need to lift the rear mat to see If I have storage, had the car 2 years now and can't believe I didn't know it was there, although the car is in bed mode a lot...Boot jump.

I’m on my fifth Berlingo, sadly it’s likely to my last as it now only available as an electric. My current one has the 130bhp diesel engine and the 8 speed auto box, a superb combination. I was fortunate in being able to specify a base model to which I only needed to add factory fitted reversing sensors. I’m not a car enthusiast and was more than happy in that it came with steel wheels, a proper hand brake and a radio that I can almost work. As with the other four it’s been no problem.

Greetings from Denmark! Do you have a number for ordering the spare tyre kit? We got a storage box to sit between the front seats. It comes with a cup holder as well ;0) Also, rubber mats for both the driver/passengers and the trunk, is great and cheap solution, for keeping the car clean of mud and dirt inside. Just pull the mats out and wash them with a hose. Things that were "off" on ours: panels don't line perfectly. The black plastic cover at the bottom of the rear window inside, is slightly deformed. Sometimes when you pull a rear outside door handle, the plastic trim bit towards the front will half way pop off. Overall we are still very much happy with our Berlingo. Cheap to buy, insure and operate, comfortable driving experience and the adaptive cruise control (we have the automatic) is great on those long trips. Plenty of space with enough trunk space to hold a full size baby carriage without the need to disassemble it or fold down any of the back seats :)

With such low use/ low mileage, and apart from lack of a spare, which was very poor on Citroens part, there wasn't much point in it really. Cup holders aren't at all important, but overall reliability is key. I had a Tsara Picasso years ago, which covered 90k it was really reliable and roomy. ( a friend did 240k in his and I've read other owners have done almost 500k. Whether this Belingo will prove as tough... who knows. I'm interested for my son and his 3 children as I'm a grandad and drive a Honda Jazz.
