I wasn't expecting much out of the "80% quieter motor". But, once I powered it on, it truly blew my mind with how quiet this is. Follow the instructions with the break in period on the motor and you should have no issues out of this compressor.

Good review. Got a bonus review on the air tool spray, good to know. Also, thanks for the laugh. I could see me doing the same thing. Have you tried any paint spraying with it? Anyway, thanks for taking the time to post.

I just rebuilt mine (Kobalt 30 gallon from Lowes) because it seemed like it was taking a long time to fill and I was getting a lot of oil in the air tank. I didn't time it before I took it apart (really stupid in hindsight), but after the rebuild it takes a little more than 7 minutes from 0 psi to auto shutoff. I am sure that will vary a bit because the auto shutoff switch is just mechanical so there is probably a fair amount of inconsistency. 10+ minutes seems long by comparison. I found a bunch of crap in the cylinders and the front one had oil in the top of it. I bought two Solberg FS-06-050 filters to replace the cheap plastic ones it comes with. They are McMaster P/N 98305K77, but you might be able to find them on Amazon as well. I did a fair amount of sand blasting with mine and some of the blasting media made its way past the original filters leading to the worn out cylinder. I just used a flex hone to resurface the cylinders and installed new rings.

Just curious, is this any good with 1/2 impact wrench to remove tires or other automotive work?

thats what i primarily use it for. it keeps up with my air hammer, air ratchet, and ir impact wrench on big jobs no problem. i do have a little grinder that works well for small projects as it uses a lot of air but it runs it well. haven't tried painting with it yet thou

Still running strong. Use it atleast twice a week. Last year the tank gauge broke changed it with a $10 one from harbor freight and that's the only issue I've had with it
