After playing "rock" guitar for 40 years, I'm trying to work some genuine blues licks into my repertoire. The way you teach makes me feel like a beginner again, in a really good way. I like the way you explain music as a language. I was talking with a friend yesterday about Rock & Blues being the same language, just different dialects. Your lessons are so clear. Many times you say out loud what I'm thinking. Thank you for this. 👽✌️

This is great Eddie, BB King used this method on slow blues, now I understand what he was doing. Thanks for making this clear to me.

Wow. I'm about 8 mins into this video, although I've probably spent an hour rewinding it and practicing little bits and messing around, I can already hear a difference. I'm actually hearing bluesy sounds which has blown me away seeing as I've only had a guitar about 2 and a half weeks. I had already fallen into that trap of going up and down different scales and not really knowing what to do next or how to approach moving onto something else or what to approach next for that matter. Thank you so much. I'd hit a bit of a wall and actually didn't pick my guitar up at all yesterday. Now I can't put it back down because there's so much you can do with this method just by noodling around and seeing what works and what doesn't. Massive respect to you man and thanks again 👊 Edit: I just started to watch the rest of this video. I can see me pausing and rewinding this for the next month or more until 🤣 at least until I sound vaguely like you do. Again, thank you so much. Video is a game changer for me 👍

I think the biggest problem with not falling into the ascending descending trap is from just how we learn these runs by going over and over the progression while we learn the particular notes which ends up casting us into this learned habit. PS thx for the lesson! Pss how long were you with eddie? I saw him a couple times ,once in around late 85 after "shakin' dropped in houston TX and then again around 15-20 years ago at the emerald queen casino in the seattle area and actually got to meet him after the show, so was just curious how long you were with the late great E.M.??
