#1 - The Alec LaCasse Podcast - Doug Linker on Mistakes, ADHD, and Meditation in Wooodcarving
Doug Linker is amongst those most responsible for the growth of woodcarving, especially among beginners over the last couple of years. His work is clean, whimsical, and fun. Doug began in bushcraft by documenting his camping and outdoor adventures and quickly developed a youtube following. Soon he took up carving and his influence quickly rose. In this interview we discuss tips and tricks beginner and advanced carvers should know as well as what pisses Doug off and more about his journey in wood carving.
The Alec LaCasse Show is a podcast where I interview experts in everything from woodcarving to business in order to dissect their daily practices, routines, and mindsets. There are so many bright people I'd like to talk to and this podcast gives me an excuse to ask them 20+ questions without seeming any more socially awkward than I already do. What qualifies me for the position of interviewer? I have over a decade of experience as a professional artist and I'm the founder of Fundamentals of Woodcarving School. It's pretty cool to go back to some of these pre-Coffee and Carving podcasts, when you guys were just really getting to know each other.
Enjoyed the video. Being a retired blacksmith, the hardest part of the job was dealing with the government. Making the projects was the fun part. Getting into carving has been so much fun. People have told me that I could sell them. Been there and done that, it's more fun to give them away.

This was so enjoyable!! It was great seeing you so relaxed Alec !!! Doug I have definitely got to get a trail camera now. I have always wondered what went on in the woods at night !! There are so many other points that were touched on that are dear to me but I won’t go through them here. I really enjoyed the podcast and hope you continue to make more!!!!
