Makes me miss my old school distress ink pads! Making backgrounds with them is so simple and they come out so nice. Thanks for sharing Christine!!

Cool! Thanks for the video! I didn't think ANYONE used the Distress Inks (originals) anymore, so this is GREAT. (I'm only a few short of a full set of the large pads and I need to use them----yikes)

Thanks for reminding me of these techniques! I totally forgot about using stamps with water. I'm looking forward to your March series on inky backgrounds. This is a great way to use my stash to create some loveliness. I like how this idea could be used for any background - scrapbook page, card or art journal page. .

H, I decided to go back and see this series from the beginning, thank you for all the great tips! Did you buy all the reinkers for your cubes of Distress ink, if so how often do you have to reinkers them?

I have some reinkers, but I have yet to re-ink any of my cubes. I guess if you have a favourite colour you use all the time, you might need to re-ink that one more.

I do not own all of the re-inkers. I have yet to re-ink my mini pads. If you are just starting to buy Distress Inks - the mini's are good since you can collect the colours faster. Then if you want a larger pad, just buy your favourite colours.

I used a watercolour paper.

Do you have to use the blow dryer or can you just let it sit after adding the water spray?

I was using a heat tool. But no, you can just let it sit and dry. I'm just not that patient.

I used a Watercolour paper. Any watercolour paper should do the job.

Do you apply the ink with a sponge?

I use the Ink Applicator tools with the sponge ends.

I like to use a watercolour paper. The Ranger Distress Heavy Stock (I think that is what it is called) is also designed to work with the Distress Inks and water.

Could you please tell what the drops are? Is it just water?

Yes - they are just water drops. The more it sits on the ink, the more it pushes the ink around.
