it was a wild time to be a JDM fan in the mid 90s to early 2000s. The one-up manship of rival brands made it feel like we were witnessing something like this every other month. Mitsubishi produced an Evo VI called the Zero fighter which was a JDM only model based on the Evo VI GSR. The UK then got it's own version based on the Evo VI RS II called the Extreme. Similar in terms of lots of Ralliart goodies & more power. The UK also got Prodrive fettled Impreza models like the P1, RB5, RB320 plus many more. Such a pity that Mitsubishi only produce SUV shaped things these days. Subaru also seem to have lost their mojo.

This was one of my all time favorite cars at one point and nearly the whole reason I put WRX over the EVO line.

So cool to see one of these on video! The spec of all the performance upgrades is unbelievable too. I tried to buy an S201 wing for my Version 6 STI a while back and im even more gutted I missed it now.

Fortunately, I bought the S201 rear spoiler and the limited edition third brake light 2 years ago. When I bought them back from Japan, they were really expensive and looked beautiful when installed on the car. It gave me a fighting spirit!

I love these Jdm rarities. I’ve got an Evo VI but I still love any 90s/early 2000s jdm cars, there’s just nothing like them.

i mean the 22b's engine had a lot more trick stuff to it and focused on good response and torque delivery instead of peak hp, this just seems like a regular sti engine with like stage 1 mods, plus the 22b had a seam welded chassis that alone speaks volumes about how much effort was put into it, and it seems like it was wider too, does anyone know if the special diff and suspension from this model were also on the 22b?

One was for sale in sweden many years ago dirt cheap. I was thinking of buying it and changing the exterior to non-retard sti stuff. Would have been an awesome car. As it is from factory it is absolutely hidious no matter how you look at it if you have any sense of taste. Now years later i can appreciate it but i wouldnt wanna be seen in it.
