1 of 5 - Another Southern Illinois Tour - Carbondale area & SIU!

Part 1 of 5. Another tour of Southern Illinois. This one took place in August, 2013. The entire tour takes you from (part 1) Marion to Giant City State Park, (part 2) up to SIU campus, around the campus lake and ends at the parking lot at Lawson Hall. (part 3) It continues by Brush Towers (across campus), a tour east of campus to 51S. Continues to two of my favorite cities, Cobden and Alton Pass. It does not take you to Bald Knob Cross. After Alto Pass, we head south on Rt 127 and (part 4) east on Rt 149 to Anna. We head up to SIU for a short tour on the south side of campus with views of the football stadium and arena. Last leg of tour heads out of campus and along road between Rec Center and Brush Towers. Then, heading back to hotel, back roads are taken. All sections are 'sped up' for easier and faster viewing.

A very nice video! It was like driving home on the back roads ... I was born in Carbondale, though lived in Alto Pass at the time ... I LOVE Giant City! Lots of very fond memories from there ...

He took a wrong turn at the beginning Carbondale’s the other way. It’s a long cruise past lake of Egypt and little grassy. Coulda stopped and showed some scenes maby.

At least we can reminisce about the 'good ole days'. The 1970s.
