@@monkeyx17 I feel the same, I've been dealing with Canadian healthcare for a long time and she reminds me of one of the many doctors I run into who pretends theres nothing wrong while I'm suffering immensely for years (edit: because of medical negligence and incompetence, not just the illness), it's insincere gaslighting and it completely disregards what we go through as patients

Please understand that you’re not just educating people about medicine, you’re showing people what it means to be a good person. Your positive attitude, honesty, compassion, and sincerity shine through on every video. No matter what topic you were covering in your videos, people will naturally think “I want to be more like that person”. It’s like you’re modeling, but instead of clothing it’s about being a good human being. You are truly an inspiration.

Your videos have helped me SO MUCH to apply the information and skills I am learning to real-life clinical scenarios & patient presentations, etc. The medical mystery videos and hospital vlogs are my favourites, as those are always the ones I seem to learn the most from!! I love your channel and am so happy to see you getting the success and recognition you deserve. I my name is Ada Hockey. I’m 18 years old. I was at Summer Academy and we wer4 researching someone who works in the medical field because I chose a blind Psychiatrist, but I thought Psychiatrist was the only field I could go into as a visually impaired person who has 20/1000 vision. But the AT specialist/TVI or Teacher of the visually impaired research some other specialties that I could go into like, Family medicine, Internal Medicine, and some others, but that’s when I looked up your channel and showed her that you are an Internal medicine and Rheumatology specialist. I told her that kind of interests me as well because you make it sound like so much fun. I want to work in Peds though. I also called over a resident Asistant at camp and she said that your the reason that she wanted to become a doctor. I am so glad that you have this channel and that you are so inspiring. Keep up the fantastic work. Let’s go and keep spreading the word and inspiring the next jeneration to become medical professionals.

This is such a wholesome video. Congrats Siobhan and Mark on this amazing milestone, you guys absolutely deserve it! I've been watching for a few years now, and what drew me to this channel and continues to set you apart from other medical channels is your day in the life videos. There's something fascinating, as a non-medical professional, about seeing how a doctor moves through the day, while still getting a deeper insight into some medical conditions that I know less about and seeing the diagnostic process. I also loved the attempt at doing a week in the life, where we can really follow patients' trajectories throughout their care. Keep it up you guys! Here's to the next million subscribers!!🎉🎉

I have recently become a medical coder and have been following your journey for a few years now and you definitely helped me understand more about pathology and kept me interested in the field of medicine. Maybe some more day in the life videos but maybe some of the more mundane things you have to do too. Like a real glimpse of how you document cases and some of the burden it might be to have to document things so specifically and dealing with insurance/lawyers. How your general feelings/relationships are towards medical coders and do you feel their presence in healthcare is necessary and helpful? Congrats again whatever content I’ll keep tuning in!

Congratulations! I only discovered your channel a year or so ago and immediately subscribed. I love to read case histories and medical oddities and mysteries, and your presentation is so much fun. I'm also a big fan of symphony and opera, so what's not to love?! I'm a retired RN and my first thought when I came across your channel was, "What intern or resident has time to do a blog?!" There's a lot that goes into creating content, filming it, editing it and I never met a resident who wasn't dying for an extra hour's sleep. Every July 1 when I was floor nursing, I'd see these cocky yet terrified young medical students, now newly minted MDs, suddenly taking nonstop call for days in a row and meeting/conquering their worst fears. (The smart ones knew to ask the nurses for help. I know we seem intimidating and 'been there - done that', but we want to help you succeed and introduce you to what's realistic and what isn't.). So a big thank you from San Francisco for taking us along on your journey. I've enjoyed going back and looking at earlier videos and watching the progress and congratulations for getting through the grind - both of you - and surviving it with grace. ❤️

I live in New Zealand and I've been watching your videos for years. I have many favourites, but the two that stand out are your nightshift on call with Mark and also shadowing the ICU nurse. Congrats on your 1M subscribers! You deserve and have earned those and made a positive impact on this world. I'd love to see travel videos, especially hikes.

I’d love to see a video explaining esophageal Varices and exsanguination pertinent to liver failure, also the paracentesis and all other manifestations of cirrhosis of the liver. I’ve been a nurse (6 years now) who’s watched your videos since you were a first year medical student and I was also a greys anatomy fan. Unfortunately being First Nations I’ve lost many friends to cirrhosis, alcohol related, I also know end stage liver failure doesn’t necessarily mean that alcoholism is always a precipitating factor to cirrhosis of the liver. So thankful to be just 1/1,000,000 of your KZread subscribers and one that I look forward to when I get the notification that Siobhan aka violinmd, has made another deep dive into medical videos. Always gives me knowledge that I can remember which makes me a better nurse. ❤ - Clint

Great video idea. And tieing in organ transplantation - both living donor and donor after death would be great!

Hi Siobhan! Congrats on 1M subscribers! I love this Q&A video! I'm so glad you felt honest enough to say that you aren't sure if you are going to have kids. I'm not sure why society assumes the natural progression for every married couple is to have children. Not everyone wants kids, or can even have them. I think it's sooo important for people to not make these kind of assumptions. It's ok to not want kids, and you don't need to feel bad about it! Thank you for all of your content. I have learned SO MUCH from you! Love to you from PA. ❤🩺😊

Congratulations and go IU! I started watching your videos as I was editing medical papers because it was great medical content from someone living close to where I grew up, and imagine my surprise when you ended up at Indiana, where I went to undergrad. Thanks for sharing your life with us!

Oh man, I had to scroll back through your videos to see when I started following your channel. I found the video! It was from June 2, 2018. It was the Emergency Pager video. You’ve come such a long way and it’s been so fun seeing your growth as a human and as a doctor (I have been in medicine since 2007, EMS then Critical Care RN). It’s also nice to see how much Mark means to you and how you both keep a healthy relationship despite the long hours that healthcare inevitably imbues upon us. I enjoy all your videos, but my favorite ones are the “Day in the Life” I enjoy watching you interact with your fellow healthcare colleagues. Also, I would love some violin content on this channel. Your introduction with the violin on all your videos has always been one of my favorite parts. Thank you for the hard work that you, Mark and your editor have been and still do in making these videos. Cheers!

Congratulations! I’ve been following since you were in your first year and always loved seeing the more human side of medical professionals. It’s so cool seeing a day in your lives and how it all works behind the scenes. Your kindness and compassion has been one of the things that helped me persist through years of drs not believing me about my symptoms. I’ve finally found the right medical team and now have a rheumatoid arthritis diagnosis
