$1 Fried Duck - Street Food in Surabaya, Indonesia 🇮🇩
After checking in to my luxury hotel in Surabaya, I went out to explore the streets for some tasty local food.
I was specifically looking for "Nasi Bebek Goreng" which is fried duck with rice. With the help of Google Maps I went exploring, and found a street cart with good reviews.
At 20,000 rupiah ($1.30 USD) for a portion it was insanely good value for a big leg of duck, rice and tempeh goreng.
For dessert I ate Pisang Ijo from the vendor working beside the Nasi Bebek cart.
Pisang Ijo is a popular West Java dessert consisting of "green bananas" coated in coconut milk and palm sugar syrup. It has a sweet and creamy texture and a delicate coconut flavour.
The bananas that they use are a specific type that are green even when ripe, and a big more starchy than regular bananas.
As if dinner and dessert wasn't enough, I stopped by a Martabak stall on the way back to my hotel. Martabak is something like a thick savoury pancake.
I enjoyed the Martabak with some friendly locals who didn't speak much English but were still willing to interact with me.

21:45 bahkan Mr Dale sendiri tau tentang budaya dan ajaran Islam, kalau pacaran itu haram. Salut.
37:01 the price ranging from 15000 to 75000 idr is actually not only about portion, you're half right, it's also about more fillings, with added meat (chicken or beef or sausage or mushrooms), and more eggs. So the portion is a bit bigger because of added fillings not like 5x portions from the price.
Great to see another upload you have helped me step out of my comfort zone now I'm supporting my local Indian cuisine here in America... Keep up the great content Dale
This is the only channel I watch whose videos are more than 30 minutes. Love it💖
