$1 FRIED CHICKEN Noodles | Hidden STREET FOOD In Vietnam
Starting today with some of my favorite noodles, Hu Tieu Nam Vang. I tell you all these are some of the best hu tieu nam vang you are going to eat in Saigon. Loaded with an assortment of ingredients this dish is a textural sensation. Loaded with massive prawns and the main reason I go here, to load up on all the sauce available. A must eat spot when in Vietnam.
Next, I went for a Banh Mi I wasn’t too sure if I was going to like. However, this just shows you should never judge a banh mi by its appearance as I absolutely fell in love with this banh mi. Loaded with ultra creamy eggs and tasted like a Vietnamese Chicken Salad Sandwich.
Finally for some fried chicken. However, what I didnt know before going here is how cheap the fried chicken is! Some of the cheapest and best Fried chicken you can eat in Saigon. But the winner for me had to be the fried chicken with a combination of their signature sauce. A mouth watering bite.
Lastly, since the place I wanted to go was closed, I went for the next best thing, some Bo Kho. A stew that taste like something your grandmother would cook. Take your banh mi and soak in all that delicious stew and take a bite of love and flavor.

Max~ I'm sure your broadcast foods channel has been helping with a lot of the Vietnamese business. I would hope that they will appreciate what you have done for them. You have made their business grow bigger and better. From nobody to somebody. And not getting any credit for it. I can tell that by just watching you through your shows not even in person. You must have come from a great conservative background family. You have been raised well. I can tell everything was coming from your mouth was real, genuine, facts check, sincerest, and so passionate. That's why I have to fall in love with your shows. I like everything that is real, facts, and compassionate. You have provided just that. I usually don't watch a lot of the shows, only a few shows that I have selected. And your shows are one of them. Congratulations on being one of my favorite lists! All the best!

I’m loving these Vietnam videos, the food looks do wonderful, the noodles and the fried chicken really looked great but the Banh Mi I know was fantastic as well. 😍 the people you’re with in your videos are always so nice and down to earth. Stay safe Max
I'm Cambodian and those noodles are best dry with plenty of 🌶! We call them katheiw Phnom Penh, its always my go to when I go out for breakfast!😋
He sure knows what he's talking about. That is a Cambodian noodle dish, but their own style. That look like it got amplified with a variety of meat. One of my favorite noodle dish.
Love you ❤️

Really enjoyed this one! Gotta try Hu Tieu next time I’m in HCMC! (Praying for American ban lift in 2021😛). Agree: that Banh Mi Ga Xe Trung Non looked underwhelming but came out a winner! Whole garlic cloves....nice. Good for you for trying it!! No apology required for the rain it’s atmospheric 🙂
You can litterally live with USD1-2 a day in Saigon,i would buy one banh mi in the morning and mi ga chien in the evening it would make my day

Good morning or evening Max, nice start to your day with that hu tieu Nam Vang, 1 of my fav noodle dishes, $4 is a bargain, it’s $14-15 a bowl here in Cali, what a rip off, bland favor unlike in Nam, your bowls looked so savory. Enjoy the rest of your day Max! Oh that banh mi awesome too! That fried chicken noodles 🍝 $1= 10-12 to 1 in Cali, Max u have made me crave so much! WOW!

Hello
Quick history of Hu Tieu Nam Vang. Hu Tieu is the name of the noodle and Nam Vang is the Vietnamese way to say Phnom Penh, the city where the dish became popular. In Cambodian, the dish or the noodle is called Kuy Teav which is derived from the Teochew Chinese word for the noodle (pronounced kwua teow). In Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, the same origins can be derived of their kuai teow (th sound). The Hokkien and Teochew are Chinese people of Han decent that are neighboring provinces and both have been merchants and business people for over a millenia. These merchants slowly introduced the noodle, the broth and the combination of ingredients including Chinese celery, minced pork, cha siu, and even the shrimp cracker to the places where they did business and ultimately settled. The original noodle and dish is called Teochew Kwua Teow, it became Kuy Teav in Cambodia and made it's way to Vietnam from there as Hu Tieu Nam Vang. I discovered this story about 25 years ago when I first traveled to of all places, Chinatown, NYC (the original on Canal Street) and tried my first Teochew Kwua Teow and noticed it's just like the Vietnamese Hu Tieu Nam Vang that I have had countless times. Consequently I tried the Cambodian version and the similarities were so prominent that I did some research. The dish is very old and has made it's way around all of IndoChina through the introduction of the Teochew and Hokkien Chinese. BTW, each dish is unique to the place/country where you have it but I wanted to point out the original version is Chinese. And in case you are wondering, I am very proud that I was born in Vietnam (Qui Nhon is my hometown just like Leo?) and I am Teochew Chinese on both sides of my family. I have been in the states since 1980 but spent almost 2 years in a refugee camp in Hong Kong in 1978. Being a foodie, just wanted to share the information I have learned about this wonderful dish!
Your friend is so awesome! Have her on the videos more often!
