@Charlie Robertson if you find f1 boring for the lack of excitement then you either aren't actually paying attention or you just don't realize the sport. But the if you want f1 speeds at the equal cars then go watch f2 those quick-tempered kids are driving for dear life and you can never rest a second, still not as amazing as f1 but it is still very entertaining.

  • @oliverwatson6956

It’s a wet weather driving technique. I think by aggressively flicking the wheel like that you can get the back end out a little, which allows you to slide round the corner. In the wet slicks don’t really grip, so you end up having to slide the car around the corners. Kimi Raikkonen also uses this technique in F1, but for tyre warming.

    3 жыл бұрын

@@jackreoh In order to turn in to a corner you need the front tyres to grip (obviously!). To help with this, you need to unload the inside rear tyre. (Because karts don't have a differential (solid axle) you need to unload the inside rear tyre for best cornering - If you don't, you'll tend to understeer.) In the wet, karts understeer A LOT so, to get front end grip, you use a combination of braking and quick steering input to help unload the inside rear. This helps prevent the rear 'pushing' the kart straight on and also reduces the grip available at the rear thereby shifting the balance away from understeer.

Why did none of the others at the back of the field roll the dice. It's not like they had much to lose. On slicks if everything goes perfectly you can gain a dozen positions if it doesn't rain. If it rains it becomes a race between you and the other drivers with wets. If you think the chance of rain being a big factor is 1/10 it seems like a good plan.

@Charlie Robertson thats such a retarded answer. There is no reason not to wear a neck brace other than fragile masculinity. It doesnt make any difference. If you want to train your neck, get some equipment and work out. Neck strength is barely an issue for people who have grown up in karting.
