The price increase won't stop me from shopping at the Dollar Tree. It's amazing they were able to keep the price at a buck for so many years.

It’s been a rough year financially & am already terrified that I won’t be able to give decent gifts to my children & their spouses. Yeah I was shocked they already hiked up prices in Florida. I may shop at Walmart for some items now. Sometimes it's cheaper anyway.

I will continue to shop at Dollar Tree even when they increase to $1.25. For me, the local Dollar Tree stores are more conveniently located than the Wal-Mart stores. Thank you for the gift basket ideas! The glue dots are a great idea.

My DT store doesn’t always carry all the items listed in her videos. Love her ideas tho! It’s convenient for me to shop there and what I love most are the greeting cards. Inexpensive and most have the nicest sentiments inside. I like paying 50 cents to $1.00 each for a card that the recipient will probably toss in the trash in a couple of days, as opposed to Walmart or grocery store $3.00 or more. And cheaper than making my own!

@@susancnw59 I Will still shop at Dollar Tree. It’s amazing how they kept their prices at $1 for so many years. And it’s often a more frugal option for crafting than Michael’s, Hobby Lobby, or even Walmart. But I hope that this new price point will allow Dollar Tree to increase their employees salary. And I also hope that the quality of some of their products will improve. The toys, plastic and metal items are often much thinner and cheaper quality nowadays. And some of their brand named products are as small as trial or travel sizes. Maybe they can start back to selling their mops and brooms With the sticks connected to them instead of selling their sticks Separately.

You always have the best ideas!! Last year at Christmas I needed a gift for each of my sons-in-law, so I went to DT and got 2 of their black buckets (they have a handle) and filled each of them with car wash products. I put in a wheel brush, car wash cloths, a car wash yellow sponge, a chamois, and several wash & shine products. They were thrilled with them! DT carries Armoral, and they also have glass wipes for cars.. Anyway, the guys loved them, and I got by with only spending approximately $10 on each bucket of products. So it’s an extremely frugal gift for a man who is really hard to buy for!! And they get something they will actually use, which is always nice!

Hey Bethany...we have been paying 1.25$ in Canada for a long while. The majority of the items are still a great deal and others not so much. It didn't affect me when it went up because I love my DT. Some items here are even 1.50$. It's all good. It takes some getting used to but hey it's our beloved DT!

As always! BRAVO👏🏻👏🏻I wrap baskets & gifts as a "side hustle" to earn a little income. To "extend my shred" I put material in my baskets. You can use the bubble wrap, strips of air packaging, folded cardboard or newspaper, and top it with the color of tissue paper your shred is. It makes your shred go a bit further. I also use lots of wooden skewers and paint them according to the color of the theme to attach gift cards and candy. You have fabulous ideas!!

I will still go to Dollar Tree. They have the best gift bags, cards, shreds & all of the items you need for wrapping gifts. If I'm there through the year, I like to get a variety of gift bags when I see ones I like, rather than wait for specific birthdays. Most of the time, it's worked out & saved me a trip. Here's an idea for a gift basket. I did this for my nephew & his wife when they bought their 1st house. I put in a "Soup Set", 2 bowls with small plates, picked out one of my favorite soul recipes & wrote it out & then included the non perishable ingredients. I also included a ladel, & wrote out a few more soup recipes. It's been a few years since I did this, I think there were a couple more items as well. I didn't use Dollar Tree items but I'm sure it can be done. .

I love the popcorn/candy basket idea! I wanted something fun for my dad and this will be perfect since he LOVES movies and popcorn! I'll still shop at Dollar Tree. There's one down the street for me and they always have all my favorite snacks.

I am going to recreate a few of these baskets for gift ideas. I’m making ornaments and they will add a nice touch too. I will continue to shop at DT even with the increase. I love the dollar tree for gift baskets and stocking stuffers! Esp for my lil grandkids, they really liked them! I plan on making gift “baskets” for mom and dad using coffee mugs and putting treats in them with the grandkids, it’ll be fun for them

For a high end look for the basket bags, use a hair dryer on medium heat or heat gun to slowly shrink the cellophane.

I’ll always shop at Dollar Tree. Even with stuff at $1, I still evaluate whether that’s the best bang for my buck. Dollar Tree isn’t always the best for items. 🥰 loved this video!

I’ll continue to shop, but some things aren’t worth the increase, some things are still a deal, so I’ll just be more selective on what purchase.I love snow caps because popcorn and chocolate is awesome!!

I’ve used the plastic gift bags too. You can use your hair dryer to mold the excess bag to your basket. High end look for sure!😊

I did this for my son and his family...with a $5 DVD from Walmart and a couple glass rootbeer bottles from dollar tree too...and a box of Swiss miss hot cocoa too...

I never realized dollar tree had glue dots! Must get for the trays in my drawers…Thank you for all these ideas! I recently purchased a charcuterie board, but wanted to give something else, so it didn’t seem so empty. You provided excellent ideas that I will definitely use!

This is the kind of thing I call oddly satisfying. Just watching it all come together. It shows how simple it can be. I personally feel more appreciated when I see effort than expense… knowing someone not only thought of you but put some time and thought into a gift, even if it’s a token that most anyone would like.

I subscribe to Mary’s Deals and Steal & Alicia Savings / KZread to get heads up on Clearance Sales, Free Deals with the Digital Coupons and $5off$25 Saturday Scenarios. I always get great Digitals on everything in the store. It really saves $$ being on SSI. Maybe DG will build one closer to you. One of our local towns is getting a brand new DG, I am thinking they may close 1 of the 2 DG’s in that town. I so envy you having a little one during the holidays. Even though I am 66, I still remember Xmas when I was 5 yrs old. Blessings to you and your Family 🥰 Oh, Family Dollar is a sister store of Dollar General, they will have the same sales.

Great video, I usually crumble newspaper put it in the bottom of the basket,then put shred on top of it uses less shred and items have somewhere to sit in the baskets

What impresses me most about this video is how neatly you can print on the movie-clapper sign!. Great ideas thought!

I will definitely still be shopping in dollar tree. But I think this increase will help me buy less of the items I buy just because and never actually use.

Still shopping DT but selective of items I buy. Going to stock up on a few things I use regularly but will be making less crafts now. My granddaughter is sad about (she's 5 and my bestie) but we totally understand why price needs to increase. Love your videos BTW

I’ve been wondering for a long time why they don’t raise the prices to keep up with inflation so I have no issue with the increase… Excellent job with the baskets!

I will still shop at DT but I will be a lot more selective especially about the quality of the items and the quantity I buy. Now I'll often pick up a few extras of things if I'm not sure how much I might need, in the future I will probably be alot more conservative about the quantities I buy. I love all your videos and ideas. With prices increasing we definitely need channels like yours to help us get the best use of our hard earned $1.00 's (or should that be $1.25's. Lol.

I think this is an excellent video great job. I also want to point out that these baskets are very pricey people think it will be cheap but in all actuality these baskets cost more than a lot of premade baskets. I just wanted to let people know who are on a fixed income or someone looking to save $ that unfortunately it can be expensive. 🎄🎅🏼🧑🏻‍🎄

I dont know about others but our thrift stores baskets have sky rocketed. Nice ideas for neighbor gifts.

One idea used a few years ago for a family white elephant game was a frosty themed basket. I found a copy of Frosty the Snowman and used items from DT to make the items to build a snowman - two black checkers for his eyes, a giant button for his nose, a scarf, a toy corn cob cut and attached to a stick for his pipe. I then put in a Wendy's gift card so they could eat a Frosty, make a Frosty, and watch Frosty. I put everything into a black top hat I found on clearance after Halloween. Another idea we have done is popcorn, cookie mix and frosting, a family friendly dvd or movie gift card, and some hot drinks for the family so they can get ready for Santa in style. DT has also sold peppermint stir sticks you can add or hot chocolate bombs.

Yes my ARC Thrift Store have baskets I paint red with acrylic paints. Then I decorate them , fill then, wrap in celephane wrap plus a bow. A great presentation!! Love the spoons! Pat in Colorado

My son has all four of the toy foods with the knives that you cut in half, and he loves them! You know little boys love to try to get a hold of a knife any time they see one, which they obviously cannot do, and this satisfies that curiosity! So, they're not just for girls

The only rectangle pies I remember were Tastykake. But you kinda need to be near where they're made to get them cause they have a short shelf life. But they are definitely the best pies hands down. No frosting/icing - just delicious crust and filling!

This is one beautiful tutorial! Instead of buying baskets though, I make my baskets out of plastic canvas and have many crocheted and bought items mixed. It's a personal thing for me. These ideas on here are great!!! Love the glue dots!

Super cute and cool ideas. My kids, that are now your age, loved Cookie Monster and Elmo. Having two kids so close in age it was nice being able to use characters that are a lot alike. My oldest loved Elmo and my youngest loved Cookie Monster, well they still do, lol.
