As someone who worked closely with military nutritionists, the reason rations in many first world countries have candy or sweets is because sugar is vital for proper functioning of muscle cells and brain cells. When you’re exercising a lot or constantly moving you exhaust those sugars fast. Therefore those sweets are both to add morale and replenish sugar your body needs. That’s why it’s common to find sugary and sweet items in US and Canadian rations. Intentionally, they aren’t to be eaten in one sitting, but snacked on throughout the day.

Those orange, yellow and brown "m&ms" are actually peanut butter candy called Reese's Pieces and they are glorious.. Unless you're allergic to peanut butter. Also try a real poutine, beef gravy, cheese curds, and french fries. One thing I love to do actually is make pierogi poutine. Fry some bacon, take that out of the pan and add pieorgis to the bacon fat, fry them till golden brown. Put them in a baking dish, drizzle what's left of the oil from the pan into the gravy. Add the gravy, the bacon bits, the cheese. Bake it until the top is brown and bubbling. Doesn't take very long if you broil them. Take out, dish it up, add a fat dollop of sour cream and chopped green onion, hot peppers(not the jarred banana ones but ghost/jalapeno/habanero. douse with ghost pepper sauce and enjoy. Sometimes I will add caramelized onions to the gravy. Not your traditional poutine but a game changer to say the least.

You usually don't find meat in a proper Poutine. It's basically French Fries with Gravy and Cheese Curds. It's not a meal you can usually take with you because the gravy need to be really hot to melt the cheese and you need to eat it before the content turn too soggy.

You have a great content sir bring more like this appreciated 👍☺️
I really love how you shot this video. Really cool.
Another great video. My thoughts are with you all. Pats to all your pets too. Greetings from Dimboola, in Victoria, Australia 🇦🇺
wow they really upgraded the IMPs since i was in the canadian army, asides from the poutine, its not a poutine without cheese curds in it.. Also we used to only get one chocolate bar a day, it came in the lunch ration.
Best sense of humor !
I enjoy your videos! Keep it up
yay, it's finally Canadas time to shine!

Pretty nice series. Hope to see more countries food packets like Vietnam, some gulf countries or like Japan .. keep going
slivki you are the ceo of these popular videos , which you lovingly make for your viewers.
The thumbnail killed me lol it’s so all over the place lol
Nice to know soldiers got better food than I do in school lol
The Sheperd’s pie backstory is very dark First of all its name in french is Pâté Chinois which roughly translate to Chinese dough Its because during the building of the canadian pacifique railroad the worker’s were mainly chinese and they invented the Chinese dough and it was the only thing they could eat Many of them died from explosives because they were the only ones to volunteer for these dangerous task

The Canadians claim again pur dishes. This woke country with no culture🤡
Another Canadian former military soldier. I was in the Reserve Forces in the 80's and we called it a Rat Pack (ration Pack) That makes me smile. Nowadays its called MRE
ok good, i was yelling at the screen to make a PB&J with the hamburger bun. The variety is there to keep morale up while getting shot at
Active Canadian Military (Navy) here. Don't cut the top of the beverage bag, it's reusable LOL. There are 2 packs of the sports drink as well as the coffee, so that bag is very useful in the field. Also, the coffee is very good cold

Really good quality videos. Wonder where he's from tortillas and sporks are not known there lol
Wasn't expecting to see the clastic spider man meme
Wow they're the best ration meals I've ever seen 😋
This is the best KZreadr
OLD VOICE ACTORRR BACKKKK
The is the most beautiful MRE I have ever saw :)
You usually don't find meat in a proper Poutine. It's basically French Fries with Gravy and Cheese Curds. It's not a meal you can usually take with you because the gravy need to be really hot to melt the cheese and you need to eat it before the content turn too soggy.
And I actually thought that millitary food was bad, welp apparently it is better than that mushroom at the end😂😅

Western MRE’s (meal ready to eat) are made this way to keep morale and spirits high.
You sound happy in this video! Happiness brought on by recent liberation of large swaths of your country's territory!

Nice work 💪
These rations look delicious! Very wise not eating the mushrooms. While these are probably OK, it is a good idea to have a decent field guide book with you when foraging to be sure. Never eat mushrooms you have not 100% identified.
Bro those tic-tac packets are what my 3rd grade teacher gave us for tests ✨💀✨
I like your terrarium vids
This one looks like a W
This MRE is really fantastic. On the other hand if you need food for 3 or more days you need a truck to move it.
In this video, slivkishow has a revelation about not studying enough and asks the comments for advice about mushrooms

Hi there pls reply bro big fan😄👋
I still have a case of Canadian MRE's in the basement. Use them occasionally on a day at the firing range for a quick lunch. There's a LOT of stuff in one and they taste pretty good to boot!
wow thats breakfast is my whole day food
poutine and pita bread, you monster!
Canadian soldiers really drinking white, sticky “protein” shakes and breaking bad Fortnite Shield potions
im from canada so good to see this word
It says "Shepherd's Pie" right on the box. It is all the ingredients to a Shepherd's Pie.
That bloatlord sighting was unexpected...
Really interesting ration pack, allot to carry in terms of size. But i am sure moral will be high with a ration that good.
The unlettered M&Ms were probably Smarties, M&M are the American copy of the old Roundtree's confection when it was a British company, Smarties are made with Cadbury's chocolate, M&Ms are made with Hershe's chocolate, Cadbury's much better IMHO.
In the US we call that eating utensil a spork. Half spoon, half fork. That MRE looked pretty tasty!
Your videos help me escape
Pita bread ...😂 pita pità !!
Those mushrooms are edible of course, pan frying them with salt is the way to go :)
bro put shepards PIE in a taco 💀💀💀
i like you videos it would be nice to see you cook on alcohol stove . some helpful links where to get the packs would be helpful many thanks and keep up the good work.

Privyet slivki
Hold up! What is the knife you opened that MRE with? It's very nice.
"Pita Bread"... TORTILLAS... Pita Bread... Bless Your Heart!
The first mushroom in the video is unknown to me so i cant say anything about their edibility. However the big ones and the ones simlair to them are Boletus mushrooms which are edible and highly sought after for culinairy use.
They aren't M&Ms, they're Smarties.
Those aren't M&Ms, they're Smarties!
Here in the Midwest of Canada it’s just beef 😂
Pita bread is for the peanut butter&jam. Poutine is supposed to be eaten with spork.
Tortilla is the flat bread the Tortilla with meat fillings are called tacos if just folded in half.
Sugar keeps you going for a bloody long time and in the military you are using alot of energy so it makes sense to have sweets in the rations chocolate also takes a long time to go off
He:but it still quite edible. Me: what
Very civilized! It's a spork, btw.
Try Polish Ration Pack ! It's reallly tasty
Some day in the past i traded from a canadian some MRE's for a assault rifle, legally. Ngl im proud of it and still today i enjoy it
I am from Canada and I love oure food
1:11 You called it "spoon fork" i called it "spork". We are not the same.
No maple 🍁 syrup 😂
If you don’t mind my asking where did you get all the rations
poutine is a Canadian dish that's made from fries, cheese and gravy. usually there is no meat
Those aren't M and M's in the lunch packet. I believe they're Reese's Pieces.
POUTIN? I SAY AGAIN POUTIN? I SAY AGAIN2X PUTIN wait wha😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
U made a taco
i think that might have been 3 days of rations, i could be wrong :p
2:16 POLLOS HERMANOS
The way he said hamburger is just.......................................
2:13 "Jesse JESSE I put meth inside a Canadian military ration jesseeeeee they paid me 22 million to do that Jesse"
Pretty bussin
