Very good lesson so many people get caught up in this attitude If so and so is not preaching I'm not going to church when it's all God's word Thank you for these lessons 3 years later they are still being shared by so many.

I feel like in the same way people group themselves to a certain denomination instead of just connecting to other Christians in Christ. I have nothing against a different denomination than mine, I still see everyone in Christ as my brother or my sister whether they are Baptist, Lutheran, Pentecostal, etc. Aren't we doing the same thing today? Oh I'm a Baptist! Oh I'm a Pentecostal! Denominations are fine because there are secondary differences but in our core beliefs we are all part of the body of CHRIST if you are abiding in him! For example, I am pentecostal and do not seek to change that, but I love my Baptist brothers and sisters and see them as part of my family in Christ. Just a thought I wanted to share.

In accordance with this whole word and 1 corinthians 3, 2 corinthians 6:14-18 I loosen myself of every unequal yoke and common share with those not being mature in Christ while binding one to mature in Christ, in the name and blood of Jesus Christ, amen and hallelujah!

People are divided because of different political parties, it's so devastating! Families, friends are being torn apart because of politics. I'm praying for our country's peace and unity.

So when Jesus says “if anyones work is burned up, he will experience loss but he himself will be saved-but only as through fire.” Does this not talk about purgatory or at least the concept of salvation through the burning of the soul? I’m only asking this because that’s what this quote sounds like.

I wish he would explain the burning part. Are teachers partly responsible for those they bring to Christ, in keeping them in Christ?

Sometimes we are led astray, we make mistakes. The fire is like the trials we face, the tests of what we build, and it comsumes what's false, melts gold, burns hay, but the foundation of Jesus Christ remains, and we are saved.

I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today (February 16, Epiphany 6), 1 Corinthians 3:1-9 was our New Testament Lesson (or Epistle) of the Day. Corinth: the New York City/Las Vegas of the Bible. Agree or disagree? Feel free to reply.

What does 1corinthians 3 mean? First Corinthians 3 follows Paul's teaching that only spiritual people can understand the wisdom of God. Paul cannot fully call the Corinthian Christians spiritual people, though, because they continue to live of the flesh, as if they were still infants trapped in an immature condition.
