    Buy 5mm female insulated bullet - crimp connectors 5$ per 100. Buy 5 mm x 20 mm fuses. Crimp wire into 2 bullet females, insert fuse into what would be the female bit of both crimps. Presto, inline fuse-holder! Wire assembly into circuit. You then have a pluggable replacement fuse-holder that allows you to make mistakes and change fuses as required. Cheap!

    Pete . Q for you . You currently have 14’s connected to the unit - can this also support multiple 14S packs in addition by duplicating the “ balance wires “ or does this cause issues . Cheers

  • @HBPowerwall

    @HBPowerwall

    5 жыл бұрын

    I think it would work but opens up a whole new set of issues. Shared looms require a little more finesse and become unhappy fast. adding that many more cables will add much more possible points of failure. Best would be to reach out to Batrium support and ask the question. WM+ can only do 6ah balance per day so adding too many P might add an unreasonable load to a single WM+

  • @HBPowerwall

    @HBPowerwall

    5 жыл бұрын

    WM6 is a long way off from what I understand. 6ah per day is considerable for a well-built battery. For a poorly built battery, you'd want to be finding out why rather than getting a larger BMS. Yes, some cells do appear to jump up a little. I also asked Batrium support about this and its due to the shared loom. I tested with multi meter and cells are definitely fine. because two cells have a 'shared' cable data sometimes trips over each other - well that's how I understand it anyway.

  • @simonmasters3295

    @simonmasters3295

    That's not a great explanation. When you say the tested cell is ok do you mean it's volts are right and the BMS reads it wrong?l

    @@HBPowerwall what i am talking about is comparing the actual cell voltage with what the longmon thinks in the software. according to maxine the tolerance is actually -50mV/+50mV. you can easily calculate that the worst possible scenario could be 100mV difference. which is acceptable for a lead acid battery, i suppose. but not a lithium, particularly a lifepo 4. the spectrum to from absorb to near fully discharge is only about 500mV. i talked to you about that they should be able to be calibrated. like some cheap chinese bms' are. maxine's position is, that people might calibrate them wrongly. i can calibrate the voltages in the midnite classic chargers. i have 5 of them. all needed re-calibrating, although they were orginally calibrated in the factory i am sure.

    @@ursodermatt8809 I have to agree not being able to calibrate the voltage reading is disappointing that they removed this feature. I had a few of my cellmons that where way out off with there voltage readings. Have fluke 87v for rough measurment and calabrated HP bench meter for more precise measurements. I understand that people potentially could be adjusting units with incorrect equipment or during conditions that would give wrong reading. Though taking the user calibration feature out of the software was a big mistake. A simple warning or placing it in an advanced menu with disclaimer would be enough. It's a diy battery management product if customer can't be trusted to calibrate the voltage offset then I don't see that as any different to them tweeking any there setting incorrectly and creating issues. Please if battrium read this return the voltage calibration feature to the software!!!
