Yes Hawaii won and I am elated, but I have to say the Alabama players were classy in the loss. Watch Kelsi Dunn graciously congratulate our players. She struck out 16 of our players and loss but she displayed total class. Gotta respect that.

Living out of a suitcase for almost a month, traveling over 8,000 miles deep into the heart of enemy territory and battling the #1 seeded team in the country. That is truly inspirational! Not to mention it being in the bottom of the seventh inning with the other teams ace on the mound, with two outs. They have to be the odds on favorite to win the CWS! All they have to do to win is just keep focused and play within themselves. They proved it all season.

The word is out about the Hawaii Rainbow Wahines “they can really hit”. Just ask Alabama. Rated #1 in the country, the Tide ran into a buzz saw in the super regional in their own park. Hawaii thumped the Crimson Tide in winning 2 out of 3 games and left Alabama at home while they got to the women’s college world series in Oklahoma city. Keep your eyes on these girls. They might sneak up on someone!

I wonder if this is a rebroadcast of the game? I remember watching the game live and the announcers were still talking about the Alabama pitcher's 16th strikeout while Rodriguez hit the home run. So, they had to backtrack a bit and catch up to the fact that the game just ended. :) This was obviously edited.

Although this happened 10 years ago, does it seem as though whenever Hawaii teams play mainland schools, be it football, baseball, M/W basketball/volleyball or, as in this case, softball...it seems as though announcers seemingly ignore Hawaii teams, kind of like David vs Goliath mentality. As many UH games as I have watched, it ALWAYS seems to come across as such. Announcers/commentators should do BETTER/More Extensive pre-game research!
