Nothing triggers me more than the thrift stores tagging directly through the fabric instead of through a seam. I recently bought a dress from a goodwill that they drove a plastic tag through the front and back of both shoulders to get it to stay on the hanger in store. I realized at home and now I have a dress with four holes 🙃

I'm honestly sick and tired of reselling... I have been doing it for 2-3 years. I got up this saturday morning to go to yard sales and tried to get out early so I didn't miss the deals.. Instead, the first 3 yard sales I went to weren't even open. Then I went to a neighborhood sale that had 2 sales total and nothing good. So I pretty much got up early on a saturday and drove around for 2 hours for absolutely nothing. Then I go to goodwill and look through all the men's shirts and maybe find one or two I can sell for $15-18$ that cost me $6 to purchase. It's such a waste of time and money. Occasionally I will find good deals that are worth the effort to sell but most the time it's just investing money up front for a mediocre return. Maybe I am not busting my ass hard enough every single day, getting out as soon as the stores open and working 10 hours a day but the return I am getting on the work I am doing tells me that investing more time and effort isn't going to be worth it.

Sorry to hear it’s hasn’t been going good lately. It’s a tough business now adays due to increased prices and competition. Have you tried getting into other categories other than the ones you seem to be struggling with finding good items to flip? Ex: we don’t go to any garage sales ever due to the problem you are having and we also don’t sell as many shirts as we use to because of the increased prices and lower margin. That being said, we shifted to getting into more categories like pants, jeans, and everything else in the men’s category. I’ve been in your same position many times In the past where some days I just wanted to quit. Ended up just pushing through it and figuring out what wasn’t working in the business and finding new ways that do work which almost always ended up being to increasing my brand knowledge and optimizing sourcing so we weren’t wasting time often going out and finding nothing.

@@kandmresell I actually started as an "everything seller"... I spent time trying to learn shirts in the first place as a way to expand what I can actually sell. I actually hated trying to sell clothes originally and didn't want to try selling them in the first place. So to answer your question, no I haven't spent much time learning about pants, shorts, or women's clothing, so I can't say if there is any better market in that stuff or not. I know Jeans cost even more money up front though at $8 a pair.

We considered doing a stacked washer and dryer on one side and the other side be all cabinets, but we didn’t want to move the 220v wire and exhaust on the dryer. You might be able to pull it off though for cheap since they are next to each other and not across which might give you some more room!

We launch 40 a day including weekend or at least try to haha. Some weeks we miss a day or 2 but that’s the goal. No draft bank expect leading into the weekend most weeks so we don’t have to do listings Saturday/sunday.

Hey Mike, what do you do when items you shipped out and the customers haven't received them in 5 business days? Do you just give them a refund on the spot? what if there are multiple deliveries having the same issue, and a couple expesive items as well. Does the ebay seller just eat the costs?

Great series! I have been reselling on eBay since last December and even tho I am currently selling about 1 item a day I’m not really seeing much progress yet. I did start purchasing items with 50% STR and higher about 2 month ago but not seeing many sells per day. I have lowered the prices, sent offers, coupons and still the same. I even started to add more men’s clothes and shoes. I see other people who started after me that are already making thousands of dollars but I’m not making that much even tho I’m buying better items now. What am I doing wrong? How long did it take for you to start seeing multiple sales per day? I currently have 335 active items with 53 sold in the last 90 days.

Pricing still looks to be a little high in my opinion compared to the markets. I’d try to run a sale starting today and have it end Sunday or Monday and see if your sales jump a considerable amount. If they do increase quite a bit then it probably is a pricing issue. Based on what I see, I’d probably do a 10-15% sale as most of the items look to be priced about that much over the market. Hope that helps. The only other thing is promoted listings. Since it’s lower sell through rate things like you said, promoted listings will 100% increase sales but you’ll just have to make a business decision on that one and see if you want to do them and for how much. I always tell people to just experiment with promoted listings and see what happens. You can always turn them off whenever you want.
