Shot with the Lumix S5 II, with the 50/1.8, mostly at either f9 or f10, sometimes even at f11. The exp. compensation was always -2/3 to avoid burnt-out highlights (it was sunny and the scene was VERY contrasty). Contrast, as usual, -5; saturation -1.5.
Being pretty much stopped down resulted in both the depth-of-field pretty deep (which is a must in these kinds of videos) and having absolutely wonderful, "pointy" sunstars with pointy lights (the Sun's being mirrored on the cars). You SURELY will LOVE them :) That's one of the many things not even a top smartphone can't do, no matter how decent AI it has.
Between 00:31 (the start of the 2nd clip) and 00:47, the gimbal was locked (suspended); this is why the footage has practically no stabilization. It's only at 00:47 that I re-engaged the gimbal; this is why the video became a LOT more stable at that point.
I had severe AF problems in many cases. For example, when I shot a closeup of the Soviet car at around 23:29, the camera would NEVER (in the next half a minute) would regain (far) focus, not even when I half-pressed the shutter button to force an AF refresh. Fortunately I've realized this problem quickly so I "only" lost some 30 seconds. (The footage was absolutely out of focus (= useless, even at f11) and I've removed it from this public video.) I also had other occurrences when the camera would just not AF on non-backlit stuff (e.g., when I shot downwards from the small hill towards the end). Dunno if this was caused by the f11 and the -2/3 exp.comp. combination. After opening the aperture to 9.0, the problems seemed to go away. (Nevertheless, as this "sampling" is in no way reliable, I may be wrong about f11 causing those major problems.) No subject detection (completely disabled it), standard AFC, (of course) firmware version 3.0.
All in all, ALWAYS make sure you do check out the autofocus. It's a far cry away from the reliability of, say, that of current iPhone Pro (Max) models. You just can't trust it, regretfully.
