1/35 StuG III Ausf G with Zimmerit by Dragon - 1/35 WW2 Diorama
A video showing building and painting of the 1/35 StuG III Ausf G with Zimmerit from Dragon which will feature in an upcoming diorama build. The camo scheme is a representation of that used by the Sturmgeschütz-Brigade 280, during the Battle of Arnhem in Sept 1944 👍
Footnote: the front sprocket hubs were missing in what was an opened kit when I bought it, hence their omission.

The Stug looks excellent, the work on that box on the back is incredible! Well done - smashing the subs too by the way 😊👌
Very well made video about the way of the StuG III. Nice to see how it develop to this great final result, Ian. Wonderful weathering with many nice details. The well suitable crew members with the MG 42 are a little highlight too. Wonderful work which was worthwhile! Best wishes and a nice weekend. Joachim

Thank you Joachim👍
superb
Looks good. Only thing i think you could've done is try to show some of the red oxide in the areas of the zimmerit that look chipped off.
so good

Always love a StuG build. They look simple but are more difficult than Tigers and Panthers etc in my view. There is a lot you can screw up. You have - as always - done a great job. Interested to know your thoughts on those Heavy Hobby tracks. I have to be honest, they don't look like much fun as those pins look awfully brittle. Thanks - @bringupthePIAT

Thanks......I like the HH tracks a lot and the pins are more robust than they look, I think I only snapped half a dozen whilst assembling the two track runs. The only issue with the pins is that you have to make sure you push them home to the point of the 'click' otherwise they can fall out👍
great vid(s) you have any recommendations of videos or tubers to watch (apart from yours) if one wants to get into the hobby ? ty..
Hi love your work and enjoy your videos. I’m looking to do a similar scheme for a German Panther I have. A question though for you if you don’t mind. Do you varnish between any of your stages to protect the base layers. Keep up the good work, maybe one day we can all aspire to have work as nice as yours. Cheers, Rich.😊

Thanks..........I don't strictly find a varnish layer necessary to protect the paint as long as it has had a day or two to dry 👍

@@CWModelling brilliant, thanks for the reply appreciate it. I’m just starting out again doing modelling. Haven’t done any since being a kid so over 20 years ago now 🫣
Very nice work! Outstanding! Can I ask what CPU, GPU and RAM does your video edditing computer have? :)

Thanks.......Its an Apple Mac Mini M1 with 16gb of ram👍
Question: why don't you paint with the hatches shut (but not glued) and open them afterwards, looks easier to me.
Great build 👍. Did you have issues spraying the Gen 3?
@CWModelling
Жыл бұрын
Thanks....yup, 3rd Gen takes a bit of getting used to with the thinner ratios but 50/50 at 20psi is a good starting point to tweak things from👍

Dies the photo etch really stay in place with tamiya extra thin?
@CWModelling
Жыл бұрын
For things like grilles you can press the PE into plastic melted with extra thin, for smaller stuff I'd stick to CA glue👍
А скільки років ви збираете моделі?
