I have the Traxxas slash mark Jenkins, 1/10. It is the ultimate version. I really would recommend this, because I have put around 60 or 70 miles on it, and it has around 190 hours of use. It’s almost reached it’s 1 year mark. I’m am very impressed that I have only broken one thing and worn out a few bearings. I always take a 1 hour walk with it every day, and I run it on a 3s lipo. I believe the motor is getting a bit worn out, but it still puts joy in my face and has plenty of get up and go still. Just over all, I am impressed by this Traxxas, and I believe it will have many miles to come, I’m sure hundreds. I am thinking about getting the little 1/16 Traxxas slash for just a kinda fun car. I might haul it around in a backpack, let my brother drive it, or pull it in a trailer with my slash to a designated destination. I just don’t want to kill my slash, and want a fun little jump car that goes fast and can be run on a lipo. I want to put the same kind of motor I have in my 1/10. Can you post a tutorial on how to install the brushless motor on the little slash?

I just bought mine last night and can't wait for it to get here 😁😁😁😁😁😁

Got 1, 2yrs ago. Wheel bearings , steering servo & a rebuilt rear diff. Still running strong on 2s in a small yard, where its 20mph is plenty zippy. Backpack ready , take it on a Motorbike just about anywheres. 👌

MUCH Appreciate the real world feedback, handling is what this car is all about, not top speed, I"m not an arrma or traxxas fanboy I just like driving good rc cars!

If anyone is hesitant about buying this car.. Just pull the trigger and buy it! I have pretty much tried to brake it at this point and so far the only thing that has broke down is the servo. (steering mech) Totally with it!

Get the Traxxas. Before you run it, pull the motor and align the pinion and spur gear. After that, tighten all the grub screws on all the u-joints. free advice. VERY FUN RC TRUCK glad I got one.

Do you know if the new versions come with a metal gear servo? Or do I still need to grab that separately?

Nice I was going to get a mini e revo and put the traxxas vxl system in it but now I am goiing to do that to a slash 1/16.

Oh the 1/16 version is so cute it's so cutely small I have the 1/10 model

Quik question. Can you not have the antenna stikcing out?

Main Manual NOT included; must be downloaded. What you got was the exploded views and parts list. I like the suspension on mine; but am getting stiffer springs since mine runs TWO NiMH batteries in PARALLEL. My surface radio standard is SPEKTRUM DX5R so replaced TRAXXAS radio with SPEKTRUM [ receiver- SR415 ] BIND, AUX1 and AUX2 come out of the receiver waterproof box via short servo extensions. Opaque windows Dremeled out and transparent polycarbonate used for new see-through windows held in place w/ Shoe GOO. After my upgrades were done, BIND went well and had no problems grafting SPECTRUM radio to TRAXXAS vehicle.

Get metal steering servo gears, the stock ones strip out , other than that, a great RC

Can you use an adapter to run 2 of the same battery’s at the same time? For maybe like more speed or more runtime?

If you ran the slash on 2 x 2s you'd have 4s and fry it in minutes if in series, if in parallel you'd extended the runtime BUT space inside the car is going to be the issue as is securing the 2nd battery. yes to two in parallel but with work involved, no to 2 batteries in series, if 4S or 6s is your thing then get an Arrma

Yeah you can run parallel adapter on stock with lipo or nimh ( parallel = longer run time), but you can only use seires adapter if you have two seires 1# Nimh batterys, or you upgrade to brushless motor an esc, the VXL 3M esc an 380 brushless motor has max voltage of 14.4 volts, two 2s lipo batterys = 14.4 volts , theres also 2 modes , red light means nimh , green light means lipo, hold on\off button till it beeps an changes color, , i run my traxxas slash 1/16 on 3s with upgraded motor an esc,

Can you do a first drive video on it

I have one that I put the vxl motor and esc from my rustler and a 3s battery and it moves, I had to put a wheelie bar on it because it was just flipping over if you hit the throttle.

+Driftomaniacs I had a problem with the stock tires so I put latrax tires part number 7672 on and they have worked well.

Mine won't go anymore but turns and only has 20 minutes or even less just don't understand and I spent 240$ on it just bought it today

I don't like they didn't include a wall block but all n all very fun to play with.

If you wanted to could you fit a 5000 mah 2s LiPo in it?

I very much doubt it due to the limited size inside the car, you'd need serious mods AND think of the weight!!!

no worries at all, I answer as many questions as I can do. The non-vxl version is also waterproof, pretty much all traxxas cars are.

I got the EXACT same thing!!!

The Slash Ultimate doesn't hit 60+ with 3s out of the box, you have to install the optional pinion gear.

+Racin'Ruschaks indeed we repeatedly state in our videos that most traxxas stated speeds are with the optional pinion fitted AND in most cases a lipo as well whereas in most cases they only supply a Ninh pack with the car. It's a good point and one we raise a lot in our stock tests with the gps. Some people think theiir car is doing 30 when in reality it's just doing 22-23. The one in his video is the 1/16th and would take a lot of mods to make it do 60!

You would need to contact your LHS as we dont sell cars directly. But its about $209 for non vxl version and about $319 for vxl version on Traxxas website

How the hell is this a review, when clearly no driving was done? "Here is the power button." Seriously? It's a mystery why RC reviewers inexplicably treat their viewers as if they'd never seen an RC before in their life.. I don't CARE if you think the Revo shock system is a great value; DOES THE SUSPENSION WORK WELL WITH THIS TOP-HEAVY DESIGN? Until you drive it, and have some road rash on the body, your opinions mean NOTHING. Just a constructive criticism.

Probably because a lot of people are looking at reviews before buying their first RC or are seeing this RC for the first time, and want to see what they're going to get for their hard earned money .Everyone has to start somewhere and here in the USA some people are 50+ miles from their local hobby store. How does this scenario sound. You go to a youtube review, the person filming it does no close ups of the car, tells you nothing about how it's handling, nor what the car comes with, they do no close ups so you can't check out the layout or the quality of the car and they drive it at 30-50mph so it flashes across the screen, so watching that you'd call it a review and buy the car? Really? See my point. If you check out my videos you'll see I do a separate drive test of every one AND tell you at length how it handles, brakes, and accelerates, and in most cases a separate GPS speed test video. But heck what do I know...

Driftomaniacs I'm saying there is no need for a seperate video; you could clip out the inexplicably droll comments like "and here is the servo, steering system." "Here is the dual-rate." If you're pitching to complete noobs, what does dual-rate even mean? Honestly, if you aren't getting paid by Traxxas, and it sure seems like it, you're doing it wrong. I stopped counting the times you said "Traxxas" after running out of fingers and toes to count. Anyway, keep up the good work

The suspension sucks. It adds a bunch of extra parts & screws. 👎👎I'll buy a different brand. Everybody thats owned a erevo has had problems with the suspension. That setup should be in onroad cars only. Didn't like it at first sight.
