"Starchwreck"? At about 7:30 the "vents" in the Main Hull...the kit provides two sets. The ones that are ribbed are for the Klingon version. The smooth ones are for the Romulan version (Parts 12 and 12A for example). BUT? When you build a model in science fiction? Really, it's your choice, what you prefer.

Will Pattison has a good discussion on Sprue Cutters. I believe he's a mechanical engineer and so he goes through why they suck - "ep84 - comparing some sprue cutters".

Look in the bag that contained the black base and metal stand. It is a clear red part. Don’t throw away the bag! It is by itself and is small. I have the exact same kit.

the red formation lights that go inside the bridge were inside the bag with the stand.

The grill detail on top of the winged hull was originally designed to be included by Matt Jefferies on the original filming model and was in fact on the model sent to AMT to pantograph to make the molds for the kit.

When it comes to snap fit, no other company beats bandai. Had a few big issues with this and their Enterprise prepainted kits. Found it strange that your kit assembled much easier considering they come from the same mould.

I realize that your post, Rekreated1 (good name, BTW) is from a year ago. Yes, Bandai are excellent. Last one I put together was in late 1999. The PL Enterprise Snap-Fit? Beautiful graphics, decals...I found the fit a bit wonky in some places. I had to use thin styrene glue to (somewhat) hide seams, but still....seams show. They need to be filled, sanded and primed, then painted...which defeats the premise of a "Snap-Kit"...

Just yesterday, Saturday, 20 July 2019 I put my D-7 together. I know, "Snap-Kit" is a marketing ploy but I like to make it look a little better than that, so...used some styrene glue. Tamiya Ultra-Thin (because it was handy)...I could have used Plastruct or anything similar. I spent about 4 hours (with a few telephone interruptions) because I was meticulous about checking for flash on edges. I have to say? The parts were very clean. This is a cute little kit that someone new with minimal modeling experience could achieve acceptable results. One thing I did (well, among many) but, an important to me thing is where the "neck" attaches to the Main Hull. I left the top piece of the Main Hull off so I could use two-part epoxy inside to re-inforce that joint from the inside, THEN sealed it up. I have built countless AMT, later AMT/ERTL kits originally produced in the late 1960s onward. The "neck" attachment to the Main Hull is a weak point...sometimes. Nothing compared to AMT/ERTL's struggle with the Enterprise nacelle pylon attachment to the Engineering Hull, but now I'm just showing my age.

I just bought one of these having very little modeling skills and your comment was interesting. Like Plastruct, never heard of that, I do want a good glue. "Flash on the edges" never heard of that, I assume it's molding imperfections you can clean up before assembly. The advice for reinforcing the neck main hull connection, great advice. I love the fact that is isn't really a glue model, so I can use the glue to increase the sturdiness of the model, but it's all painted and has the decals all done, that's great cause I can't do any of that stuff. Well thanks for you post four years ago, of you read this now and have any good tips I'd love it if you'd send them over. Cheers.

Not sure its worth the full price, those gaps were pretty big. However if you use the 40% coupon its hard to resist. Its also a good source of cheap parts for scratch building. Question, how did you create the stain on the saucer of the Potemkin?

Is the Klingon D7 Battle Cruiser model for playing with if you want as long as you don't lose the piece's?

I find it next to impossible to attach the main bridge and neck to the body. How did you do it?

This thing is way more junky than it's enterprise counterpart. Stuff doesnt stay on and needs to be glued. You have to cut and sand a ton of stuff to make it fit together. All that would be fine and dandy if this was a conventional model kit rather than a "snap fit". The enterprise goes together smooth with little or no modeling tools.
