2 year old video with comments only being a couple of months old ?? On a sidenote, 1-1/8 form setting is without a doubt the single best system in the world, ever!

I set both sides of the wall at the same time with a setting partner. Fastest guy gets the ties in. I do like kicking panels off though. If you can kick them to the dirt bank is more efficient but if there is no bank and someone has to catch them it is still faster then prying them off from the ground level.

How will the panels match up if they are set on a stepped footer?

Why are you only setting the outside first? I've done thousands of foundations with these and you always set both sides as you go.

Hey Ryan, it's true, these forms are designed to be set in pairs and in most cases that is the quickest way to set them. This crew builds a lot of homes with a large amounts of rebar, and that was the main reason they developed this system of setting the outside first. Similar to the way a lot of commercial work is formed when it's got heavy rebar that needs to be inspected. I'm sure on some jobs they could still set in pairs, but having perfected this method, they've found it more efficient to apply it to all their work.

You don't have to. You can do both sides as you go with Simplex forms.

Even if there was a mat of steel why wouldn’t you put a cage on each side and run it. Looks like it was a top and bottom row so I really don’t get why you ran one side. Edited because I was a dick the first time.

We are just the manufacturer, not the contractor. On the foundation shown here I think you're right, it could be formed in pairs quicker. This contractor does a lot of other houses where they've found one side first to be faster (custom homes with much heavier rebar, and commercial work where more intense rebar inspections are required).

Forget it you just don’t know what you’re doing, you don’t need someone putting ties in and you definitely don’t need someone kicking forms off for a guy to pick it up and put it back down. Then pick it up again and put it in a cage. If you’re making money now imagine how much you’d have if you did it right
