No one has time to see if someone jumps while staging, staring at the light, your rpm, boost etc. You dont have time to stare at your oponnent possibly jump, then you can't watch the stager. Most jumps aren't even a whole second. Officiators job to call that shit.

Not super odd a stinger is super reliable already built for a stock turbo so it shouldn’t be as much work too twin turbo it plus doesn’t weigh very much

@@georgetsanos9373 just really depends, i knew a guy that had 1981 production make 3, and 7 off the factory line and he wouldnt take 90k a piece for them. and i know another guy that sold his for 10k. they are more or less a single person market, like whatever people feel the sentimental value is really. but i would guess they sell from likw 30-50k or so

I'd love to see what happens if the hog didn't get the jump every race.

I will say, the engine that went into the DeLorean was eventually used for a rally car in the Renault Alpine A310, and the designers actually did plan an upgraded version with a turbo, but the company went under before it could happen. A V6 twin-turbo is a *perfect* choice for a car that wanted to go fast.

orginal engine in the DeLorean is 90 degree v6. And the Alfa-Romeo-Giulia-(952)-29-V6-Bi-turbo-510HP-Quadrifoglio also has 90 degree engine. This one might fit in the chassi

I love the 2-shaft Alpine cassette player in the DMC-12. perfect fit!

I think the jump it got in the last round probably gave it more than a one foot advantage. If I had to guess the Delorean probably should have won by maybe 2 feet? Still DAMN close, and that warthog FLIES

To me it looks like the warthog was actually pushing through the brakes, cause I don't think it has a trans brake so I think for the launch and for building boost it was just sitting on the brakes

I love the fact that that Delorean was (originally) built in the 80s, less than a mile away from where I'm sitting now in my house, and now there it is all these years later racing a Warthog from Halo. Fantastic stuff!

The original engine was not supposed to be the Renault/Pugot 6 cyl. The one that was supposed to be in it was not ready in time for the production line and went over cost, so they settled on the Renault. There were 2 twin Turbos built near the end of production that were supposed to come out the next year, but we all know what happened to Jon DeLorean. Bottom line, the DMC3 was not what he wanted to be when it rolled out.

The 3.3TT engine out of the stinger is great! And it does have an interesting tone. Def not the typical V6 trumpet sound. V happy to see such a unique build!

Yup, chase is a race. Even though we can see dude jumped, if the DeLorean didn’t move that would constitute a redo. If this was at the track, that’ll be an L for the WartHog. It’s crazy how close that last run was and how much of a difference that run made. Definitely fun to watch this one.

that Warthog build is just phenomenal. The fact that he is even giving a 500hp, sorted Delorean a run for its money is pretty amazing.

This jumped twice. This lost. I love both the cars though. I really enjoyed watching the build on the warthog. Impressive stuff.

Is it jumping if you're not actually accelerating? This isn't a drag car with a trans brake; it's an off-road machine that has so much torque, that it rolls through fully-compressed brakes.

AHHHH I KNEW IT. I seen this being built a while back and as a Stinger owner I very much approve. Mine makes 485 AWD HP on stock turbos and meth injection. Nice dude! I love it. The 3.3 is such a great engine.

We have such a love-hate with the stinger down here in aus. Our police force have used Holden Commodores (the OG aus Chevvy SS for the 'muricans) for years but since the Holdens are no longer built in aus they were replaced by the stingers, so it's a touchy subject... can't deny that motor sounded sick though fuark

I.. Ok this is the greatest matchup for 80's kids, hell, even 90's kids... Tricked out DeLorean, built right vs the halo Warthog, seriously guys. Blowing my mind here AND IT WAS A PHOTO FINISH! Nuts.

How does this not have 1.5 million views already? Between the people who grew up playing Halo or watching BTF movies you would think. Both of these vehicles are so well done.

I'm glad someone is repping kia. I miss my 2015 forte hatch. 1.6 turbo gdi engine with a 6 speed manual. Wasn't super fast but it was peppy and fun to throw around corners

Having seen that DeLorean in action up close, when I saw this matchup I figured the race was in Nick’s hands. Did not expect that Warthog to get off the line so hard. Damnnnnn. Well done, Hoonigan team. Wow. Turbos: telling physics to eff off since 1905.

Probably unavoidable given the setup on the Warthog: automatic not set up for drag racing, so it won't have a trans brake, which means Alex has to hold the brakes at start in order to build revs and boost. It's still stupid fast, but not strictly a winner against the DeLorean creeping on the start like that. Probably trails by a couple feet in the 1000, if we could get a clean/even start out of it. Which is crazy impressive.

This was sheer amazing! Let's be honest, the Warthog pre-rolling the starts especially in the last heads up is what gave it the resulting 1ft. Nevertheless, this episode had me smiling the whole time. Grew up with both, yet wanted the DeLorean to win SO BADLY lol.

man, gotta say those Kia TT sixes sound beauuuuutiful 🚗💨🎼🎵 saw and read up on this build a month or so ago and gotta say that's probably my fav DeLorean build of all time, perfectly done

I smiled during this "This vs That" more than any other match up. Maybe it's the nostalgia. Maybe it was the Hoonigan build. Probably both.

You can see the torque on the Warthog pulling him away unintentionally haha, such an awesome race and I'm so glad that was a close tie. Warthog defs earned it considering the specs and time spent on it but you can see that it was definitely a harsh line up because that DeLorean is literally built for speed compared to the offroad beast. Both builds are amazing!

Yeah he got the brake pedal down against the floor but when the boost climbs there's too much torque and the brakes just can't keep it still XD

The velcro on the box in the back just made me laugh lol

Speaking to the gar guys ad. Working in a body shop we have our chemical supplier (car bright) and they make some of the gnarliest degreasers and cleaning supplies. For a DYI brand I keep a bottle of every car guy product on the shelf. It’s not quite as good as some of the commercial chemicals BUT it is 90% there. Highly HIGHLY recommend!
