that alarm is every where in Iowa it goes off at 7:00 am 12:00 and 6:00 and it was for the framers out in the fields like in the 1900s so they know when to come home to eat it happens at almost every small framer town here and they keep doing it i don't know why

ours goes off at 9 pm. that and the streetlights are when we had to be home as kids. We don't live in tornado country, its a legacy to call the volunteer fire department to a fire. Not sure why they still have it since we are way past the pager era. Ours sounds exactly like the one in the video. yes I live in the same small community that I grew up in but it's part of a major metropolitan area. not out in the Hicks.

It doesn't go off everyday. They only test the tornado sirens 1 time every few months. Plus you can kinda look at the sky an tell there was no tornadoes to be had

Casey, that siren was a tornado warning siren. In the Midwest, the siren is tested once a month from around May to September. In my county, the siren is tested on the first Wednesday of every month. :)

I'm also from Minnesota! I've been in smaller towns that would sound the siren at noon as sort of the "lunch time bell" for the people of the town :)

Seriously, fuck you for saying that. Chicago is the one of the best cities in the world. Every city has crime and Chicago is no different. The crime is localized in a really small area. It's not even all of the south side. It's barely the south side at all. It's like two fucking neighborhoods and people use it to define the whole city. Don't ever say that stupid line ever again.
