We're here to share just a small part of our simple lifestyle in Setouchi, Japan. The end of summer 2020, we bought a Japanese style old house! It's in a rural area in Kagawa prefecture, older than 100 years! Really really old and has a bunch of problems... but the house looks very cool. So, we've just started renovating and trying country living for the first time :D

I use an old rug to move things around on my wooden floor. Less scratches that way. I also added some wheels to some wood to wheel things around. Makes life so much easier and I don't hurt my body as much.

For the scratches on the kitchen floor: put a damp cloth down on it and iron (heat) the scratches. The moisture should cause the wood to swell back into shape.

@@JapanCountryLife_ALINCO it is not about scratching the floor . It is the board that joint the floor and wall so not to leave gaps there, and to give the floor a finished look

そうなんです、今年の秋がきたら丸２年です☺️ なのにまだ床がない部屋が複数あるという...笑 いつもありがとうございます！！
木はある程度復元出来ます、スチームアイロン、温水、色々有りますが、変色が心配ですが、コーティングされたみたいですので、大丈夫かと思います、試してみて下さい。

Nice progress on the kitchen. Very nice indeed. It is going to serve you well. Although now you know what any kind of seating or table will have to have some good pads to avoid future scratching.

重いものを移動させるときは毛布にのっけて毛布を引っ張るといいですよー

動線を考えたら冷蔵庫の位置がなぁ〰️って思いましたが、窓があったりでなかなか置く位置が難しそうですね‼️

あ～うちと同じ失敗を。やった後に少し水を含ませてやると多少は戻るんですが時間が経つとどうかな。(;^_^A 次回からは何か下に敷いてから引っ張りましょう！

よろしおすなぁ。 台所エエ感じに成りましたやん。 冷蔵庫の引き摺り跡以外は・・・・・。 まあ、使ってる内に慣れて来ると 思うけんど。 また、庭仕事頑張ってはりますなぁ。 またまた、古瓦の活用どすか？ 花壇に使うかぁ。 無駄にはしまへんなぁ。よろしおす。 良い土じゃないかもしれない！❓ 今年は駄目でも、来年があるさ。 てな気持ちで気長にやるのが 庭仕事のコツどす。 園芸読本には、失敗しないと人は、 次にエエもん作ろうとしないので 進歩しないそう。 まあ、自由に、無理なく、やったんさい。
