In Acts ch.2 the reason some in the listening crowd thought the nelievers were drunk wasn't because they were speaking in tongues, but how they were acting. This is how joy is displayed.

According to the Word of God, the Bible says to speak words that administer grace unto the hearers , so talking about people , especially people who are of the household of faith isn't of God. It is also “ normal “ worship in an African American Baptist church. So I don’t know what the fuss is about. You could sit this congregation down in an African American Baptist church and no one would blink and eye, instead you would be right up there with them.

How on Earth can this be edifying to the body of Christ? You can't understand a word they're saying! What about in I think it's 2nd Peter where talks about a quiet and humble spirit. And also Jesus said when the Holy Spirit comes he will not show himself he will show the things that are mine. Do you ever think that Christ acted like this? I do not think so. This has nothing to do with holiness. How terribly sad Galatians 5 : 22

I can agree with you on one point. The tongues that are heard in this video was not edifying to the congregation. Paul addressed that and did not speak out against tongues but said that it was edifying that person only as they were speaking to God. Paul said that it was better to prophesies so that the whole congregation could be edified. Paul gave reasons for this in this chapter. He also spoke about prophecy would not cause the non-believer to believe. But that tongues was a sign to the nonbeliever. He also went on to say that if everybody tried to prophesy at one time that the nonbelieving or unlearned would accuse folks of being mad/crazy. All of this can be found in 1 Corinthians 14. As for your point using the scripture about a humble spirit that is in 1 Peter 3 is speaking about husbands and wives and How they are to be submitted to one another. That scripture reference is totally out of text with this discussion. In addition, the scripture in Galatians 5:22 is really not applicable here either. If you pick up the text in verse 19 you’ll find that those scriptures (versus 19, 20 and 21) are talking about the vices/works of the flesh and comparing those against the fruits of the spirit Found in verse 22. So you are partially right. Going back to 1 Corinthians 14: 17 & 18 Paul said That person that was speaking in tongues was giving thanks well and he went on to say that he think God that he spoke in tongues more than anybody else in the Corinthian church. He also went on to say that it he would rather speak five words that were understandable as opposed to 10,000 in an unknown tongues. My point is that Paul encouraged tongues but was also trying to point out in a subtle way that they were different uses for that gift. But I understand where you’re coming from. I would just encourage you not to dismiss it all because you cannot understand the gentleman. But I can understand where you might be coming from.

King David did the same as he celebrated the return of the Ark of the Covenant. 2 Samuel 6:14-22 In that passage he even told his wife he was willing to even look more foolish. Verse 14 said that David danced before the Lord with all of his might. I don’t think these people even went that far and you call them mad and say that they commit blasphemy? If you can read that passage in Samuel and be OK with David then you may have to overlook your own emotions and align yourself with what the scripture says about worship. In Acts Chapter 2 there were people that were in the crowd at the day of Pentecost that said the people worshiping were drunk. Peter quickly let the people know that this was a fulfillment of prophecy that came from the prophet Joel. So please check the scripture before making statements like this. I think this is a great example of how we all can learn from what the word of God hast to tell us about many things. Please understand I am not saying I have all the answers but in this case I think I have clearly demonstrated what the answer is. May God bless you and keep you and make his face to shine upon you.

I’m sure you wouldn’t be jumping and playing drums if Jesus were to show up. There’s a total lack of reverence of his sacrifice on the cross for our sins so that we may return one day. I would think it would be more appropriate to be still and know that he is God.

If there were ever a reason to dance and praise the wonderful name of Jesus, it would definitely be in his presence. Psalms 149:3-9 New International Version (NIV) Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with timbrel and harp. For the LORD takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.
