08 - The Point Slope Equation of a Line, Part 1 (Writing Equations of Lines)
Get more lessons like this at www.MathTutorDVD.com.
In this lesson, you will learn how to write the equation of a line using the point slope form.
In this method, we must know the slope of the line along with any point on the line (not necessarily a y-intercept). We will solve many problems to get practice.

I'm so glad to see that someone out there understands that a lot of us need to WHY things are the way they are. A very good verbal and visual explanation is much appreciated. A whole lot of us would have done a lot better in math had we had a teacher like this guy. He's the absolute BEST!!!

Exactly what I said in a different video. Simply astonishing how good he is at teaching math concepts.
I am a 72 yrs old Dad. Trying to catch up to help my 17 yrs old son with his algebra. Don't die on me just yet! Thanks
I use your video explanations all the time. You a very good teacher! Very concise which I appreciate.
Thank you so much for this video. I like that you explain everything in clear details.
Personally, i have never got this kind of clear explanation anywhere before watching multiple of video lessons and the thing that i was totally impressed by how the y=mx+b formula came from:) much appreciated..
Super useful!
I have watched many, many math videos and yours are the BEST! Thank you PEACE
Thank you for the upload. I fully understood your lesson plan, and was able to help my nephew, with his algebra homework.
awesome. dude. !! SO helpful...youdefinitely clarofied this fuzzy subject very sell. thabk YOU. SO. much. a BIG help !!
In your video area 10:25/24:27 you said "literally we've done nothing but you did! You revealed a step that was overlooked In my math lab (Pearson) and in my college algebra class because it is assumed that we know to multiply the slope (m) times (x). I kept on getting wrong answers because that step is not revealed but assumed the student know this step. I probably don't make since but you just helped me a lot. Thank you.
I just don't know what to say.. i've been looking on KZread for a video that explains how the point slope form is derived but non of them were explaining this.. they just use it... that was frustrating me a lot 😩 bcz i wanted to know what does the Y and X mean in the point slope form equation 😩.. but now after watching u explaining this i got it .. u're a true real savior ❤ thank u so much❤
enjoyed the lesson, many thanks 😊
Thank you really for your great effort ,,you make me understand in a very easy way
Thanks a lot for your videos teacher.
Loved the lessons ♥️
Man, you are just great at what you do.👏👏👏
Your explanation is fantastic thank you
Brilliant
@16:38, 1/2 x is always put as x/2 in the Math score website. Would you consider that to simplify 1/2 x a little further?
Thank you very much to teach me nd I understand well all calculations
Ì understand fully, thank you very much
THANK YOU... SIR...!!!
Thank you 🙏
Perfect explanation, thank you professor. I had a question : If we are given coordinates of a point and the slope , then is it not better to find the y-intercept ,simply by using the following formula / if y=mx+b , then , b= y-mx ?

Yes you can totally do that!

@@MathAndScience Got it, thank you very much sir, I do appreciate your effort and the pedagogical skill of explaining
this guy is an actual god
from question 14.20, I can find y-intercept using y=mx+b
Can we please have a. tutoral on exponential equations , thank you so much-- ex teacher
but what’s the point of finding y-y1 at the first place?
what is the slope and equations of (1,1)(1,1)?
Where is part 2 and 3?
great jop.. can I translate it to arabic language?
U r ok
