Footage gathered from the SW side of Houston. Cars floating down streets, people stranded on medians that were turned into islands. I assisted a few people getting around in the flooding with my boat. Flooding caused by hurricane beryl.

I've been in Houston for most of my life (around 50 years). I've experienced the following tropical storms/hurricanes: Alicia, Alison, Ike, Rita, Harvey, and now Beryl (there could be others that i've forgotten about). Thank God in this hurricane we kept power and only lost half of our backyard fencing. Over a million people in Houston are still without power and tomorrow is supposed to be around 92 degrees (and probably 100% humidity). I am grateful that we were this fortunate. Many of mine and my wife's friends/coworkers/families are without power now, and one lost a section of their roof during the peak of the storm and have severe water damage in their house now. I've offered for friends/family to stay with us, but nobody has accepted yet. Prayers out to all in the area.

It was mainly Mississippi and Louisiana. I have a step-brother who went through it in Mississippi. It was VERY BAD!

Kroger is open! Houston is hard core. This hurricane was easy! I went to Kroger in the middle of town near Rice University to get charcoal to grill all my meat in the freezer, before it spoils. We eating good tonight. I even bought some ice and a small ice chest to put my bacon and eggs and milk, for breakfast tomorrow morning on the grill in my cast iron skillet! We will probably have no electricity for at least a few days to a few weeks because trees are down all over the place. About two million people do not have power.

Here's the harsh facts about immigrants. The taxes they pay just in buying consumer goods ALONE is more tax than the billionaire class pays in their income tax. Yes, you heard that right. Billionaires pay ZERO in income taxes. ZERO. And here's the cherry on top. THEY GET SUBSIDIZED EVERY SINGLE QUARTER. MEANING THEY GET MILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN "HANDOUTS" EVERY QUARTER OR THEY WOULD GO BANKRUPT. These ghouls are laughing all the way to the bank because they own the media. The same media that tells you to hate your immigrant neighbors... Maybe one day we can wake up swe who the real enemy is. Cuz it sure as hell ain't Jorge working his ass off on the roof down the street in the middle of the summer.

Houston is very low lying and floods often in big storms. I was able to drive around on the south beltway many years ago when most roads and freeways were closed by flooding. Not a hurricane, but lots of rain. Friends and family are also dealing with heavy flooding because of too much rain this summer. Stay safe out there. Here in the Philippines, I have experiences one super typhoon a couple of years ago. So much damage.

Well you have a city to size a Houston what's the elevation of 8 to 12 ft above, then you cover the entire Place nearly with concrete. Was an extra high tide in 5 to 10 in of rain. All the low spots are pretty much going to f****** flood. After 40 years in Galveston this is just a normal day. Don't need a hurricane for this to happen. Get the front to come in with a high tide. It generally all gone in about 6 hours

I lived in Houston 20 years. Houston just floods because it's so flat and everything drains to Galveston Bay. When a hurricane pushes water into the bay everything backs up! Notice the buildings are high and dry about three feet above grade. The city has designed the roads and parking lots to flood first. They act as a reservoir until the drains catch up. The guy giving rides in the boat was pretty funny.😂

If you noticed this is how people in the red States treat one another the call brother and sister wherever they can do to help one another out they call them sir or ma'am and they are respectful to one another and help each other out in difficult times no matter who it is because they'd want that done to them. However if you go up to the north if it's worse situation no one's going to stop to help you no one's going to ask you if you need help it's going to be every person for themselves because Northerners are very they think unless it's happening to them they don't have to help another person not doing a difficult time like this but if it were their family or their loved ones they would get outraged if nobody stepped in to help them out but they would never hesitate to not help out somebody they'd be in Reverse you know I know that cuz I've had issues where I would think somebody would come and help me out my neighbor after I've helped them out with leaves and snow and Lawn and everything and then in my time I need when I needed help being in and out of the ER for a medical kidney situation did I get any help from my neighbor know they wanted like 300 plus dollars to mow my lawn and weed whack and side trim and it's kind of like I have helped you guys out for 6 years since I moved in and I've never asked for a dime from y'all but when I need help you're going to bitch and complain that my lawn is mowed because I've been in and out of the yard because of a kidney situation and tell me that you're going to put down weed killer that could possibly make my service dogs sick and my pants that I have sick and it's kind of like how conceited entitled are they but they expect everyone else to stop at the drop of the house when they're going through a rough patch a difficult time that people are going to stop and help them out yet they won't help others out and that's something that I've noticed in the north that is how people treat one another ever once a while you get a few good apples but a lot of them are entitled conceited bad apples unless it's happening to them they got the phones recording but they're not going to lend a hand I'm grateful for my one neighbor who's not my retired service dog out while I've been at ER for my kidney situation but it's kind of like I'd rather live in Texas than live in the North because first of all I'm a Conservative Christian and raised does a God-fearing woman and Believe In The Commandments believe in living a modest life and yet I see you around me these people who have lost their faith in God lost their faith in Jesus lost her faith in general and are so entitled conceded that something like this hurricane let's see if it happened in Michigan I guarantee you people wouldn't be saying brother sister can I help you out is there anything I can do for you let me get you to the grocery store no instead of me everyone for themselves and to show up and see they are they expect you to help them out but they would never step in to help you out it's a double standard and that is why although I was raised by my Southern grandmother when she came up to the north live with my parents and I I am so proud of how Northern Northerners treat one another difficult times when we should all be working together and helping one another and not being so petty but unfortunately it's like they're going to try to milk you for money rather than helping you for free but they expect that you would do the same for them but for free it's really sad there's a completely different mentality towards how people behave in natural disasters in the north compared to the South and it's very clear and it's really disheartening it's like it's not worth living up in the north side and I told my family when I can I would probably move down south I'm just tired of it I help people out I give them a shirt off my back I do anything to make everybody else's life better during difficult times and clean my neighbors but if you're not going to turn around and do the same are towards one another and not all are but unfortunately a lot of them are and that includes you can't rely on your neighbors during difficult times. God bless you man and I hope all y'all are safe down there praying for all y'all

I still don't know why people choose to live in these known flood areas... I live in Energy Corridor/Katy area. Never had a problem and the stores are still open. Able to get gas and my power is still on. It's crazy how everyone knows the potential of flooding, yet people don't think disaster will ever come their way.
