Mr. Broderick Chavez is so smart. Great video guys, quite a lot of light bulbs went off during this video. The budget explanation of taking a deload was awesome. It makes total sense that Dr. Mike and Broderick teamed up.

GREAT.super Video 😎👍💪
Thanks guys. The section about bodies timed response to stimulus and not simply changing up your exercise is a game changer. You see people in the gym changing it up every week and look the exact same years down the line. Their body is not been given the required time to adapt.

Thank you very much for the fantastic work that you’ve been doing Steven! Broderick is inspiring, genius, genius!!! After started listening to your podcast, I finally begun seeing new considerable gains after 11 years of “workout” , finally I’m training smarter and understanding that it is pure science and “no one can cheat biology!” Thank you again

Fantastic! I’ve never heard this guy speak before but he is my new favourite guest! Great video! I just wish he would have mentioned “homeostasis” at the intro and the bodies desire to maintain it, might have helped explain his Take on GAS.

Yep yep
Follow-up question for Broderick, (9:33), if the "recovery stage" is longer as you become bigger/stronger and require more total volume, then why is it a recommendation for more advanced lifters to increase frequency of weight training (see, Alberto Nunez)? If I could make a guess myself, if it because as we become advanced not only do we need to do more total work to induce a response, but also our bodies become more adept at recovering from that damage and fatigue? Another great episode Steve!

Thanks Patrick, perhaps you want to join our facebook group. facebook.com/groups/revivestronger/ There's a higher likelihood that questions like these are seen from someone like Broderick himself

This is old but. I'd theorise it's kind of like a bell curve. Your tolerance to volume and training is so low in the beginning you require less and can't recover as good. As you get better increased frequency and volume is required to increase stimulus. As you get advanced the sheer load and volume you'd have to endure has such an impact on your body/joints etc you require more recovery again and thereby less frequency. 🤷♂️ Only a half thought so wouldn't out alot of weight into this repsonse
Great podcast 👍🏼

I have a question that is maybe not directly related to training but I figured I'd just ask anyway since I think this is one of the most trustworthy youtube channels and I had mad respect for the amount of knowledge you and your guests have. So my question is related to sodium intake and dieting. I've heard that you should limit your sodium intake by quite a bit but I don't know if the "limit you sodium consumption" claim applies to athletes since they sweat a lot of it out. Personally I find dieting to be SO much easier when I don't restrict my sodium intake. Is it necessary to limit the amount of sodium you consume in this scenario? Thanks already in advance!
@ReviveStronger
6 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't restrict sodium. Sodium is essential for different processes in your body, such as carbohydrate transportation for example. So please, don't limit sodium unless it's astonishingly high
