Gotta love the hot air intakes. I like mine for the cool noises but that’s about it. Getting a stock air box and cutting the baffles out of it and smoothing it out

So u ran that one 3rd line right into the throttle body?

My cold air intake in my evo 7 i clamped it on the turbo it makes a really loud noise it flutters a lot but in the rain it doesnt flutter much

I don't understand why AEM would instruct removing the stock piping under the stock airbox. Maybe there's actually more air flow under the hood without it?

No heat problems at all. It definitely increases pick up. Plus it makes cool noises also

@@gaboxd001 I might be totally late, but I have it on my 2009 Civic Si coupe so it should fit a 2008. I'd suggest getting a heat shield for it or just buy a cold air intake. You're gonna get in a lot of hot air with this one as the engine heats up!

Fierro I bought a SRI because a friend of mine was selling it for a great price. It fitted perfectly but had to remove it because after some time the car started to run too rich and I was losing power in low rpms. I need to get a Hondata before installing any other bolt on.

I did not tune the car. I wanted something not too crazy. This is a daily driver so I don't need max power gain like a 3.5" intake. Also I don't have $500 for flashpro lol I just liked the response. Stock intake is restrictive

I put the same short ram in mine and in the summer I lost a lot of power because I didnt have a tune. It ran sucky as hell lol so I went back to the stock airbox and resonator. I noticed the power went back and acceleration/torque felt really strong again. That's why I asked. I still have mine, just waiting to get my other bolt ons so I can finally get my hondata. Thanks bro!!

Congratulations you went from a stock outside air temp intake to an after-market hi flow hot air intake, if you had Dyno numbers before and after I guarantee that you lost power... I bet my f g 2 on it... your pulling hot air right off the exhaust manifold not to mention the aluminum will heat soak. It seems as if true mechanics have gone extinct and all we have now is Parts changers...

Welp you sure don't know how to watch a full video. If you know so much about fg2 or 8th gens you know there is a fresh air duct from the driver side bumper that feeds air into the stock tube......I left that in. Yup still ambient air temp drawing into the "hot air" intake. Not fool proof but you can continue on thinking you're smart too.

@@jessedrifts right right, wrong! I have a 08 fg2, bought it with 6 miles on it. I have ran several different air intake setups. Any Shore ram pointed out back is pulling in hot air there's just no way of getting around it. The duct you speak of that allows ambient temperature inside draws from the motor in the stock intake setup, once you remove the stock intake it is no longer drawing in cold air, short ram should be modified and spun to sit behind the headlight.... at which point you can run wide open 4 inch ducting from your bumper to the filter and then obtain ambient temperature. You're on fucking crack if you think that's pulling cold air out of that hot ass engine bay expecially pointed directly at the exhaust manifold. If there was an abundance of cool air in the engine bay like you clearly stated then Honda would have clearly taken advantage of that.

@@jessedrifts no Honda engineers are some of the best on the planet hands down... trying to assume things for me so you have a point... unfortunately anybody with intelligence will pick up on that immediately.... here's the setup! Injen short ram intake modified and expanded, battery relocated so the air intake can be twisted and put behind the headlight like previous stated... you can run 4 inch ducting like previous stated right up to the air filter without a single worry about hydrolocking or even getting the filter wet in a downpour. This setup has about a 128k on it and have never pulled in water. Take High R rated insulation and wrap your intake with it securing it completely with reflective tape. That is how you pull in outside ambient temperature in our SI with a short ram intake and maintain consistent outside ambient Temps at idle. Or you could go to the expensive ass route and buy a true cold air intake however it is not necessary to build power. My car is also a daily driver that is driven spiritedly on the country roads of Northern New England especially the kangamangus highway. Nobody here but you are talkin out of their ass!!! You want to take stats off the side of the box which is literally advertisement to get you the by the fucking thing and use it as if you achieve those results. And no disrespect whatsoever but I was modifying a building cars before you were born son! Not some shit talker on the internet unfortunately it is where I am presenting myself at the moment... however the offer for you and I to get down in our cars is still on the table
