This is some wholesome! And I can relate. I feel the same way about my cats! They make me so incredibly happy, it's ridiculous.

this reminds me of when i was 9, stayed at home because my mom let me skip school, she played this album in the living room while hanging up the laundry, and i was playing with my dolls or drawing

Yes. That IS the meaning, the gals just don't get that and think it's just a love song. It's actually about a toxic relationship where the singer is sacrificing her individuality to please an apathetic man. It's all about pleasing him and accommodating him by any means necessary. He likes bad girls so she will become one for him, etc. Video games are his interest, not hers, but she will never ask to do anything *she* wants to do, only his interests matter. She feels incomplete without him and it's implied she thinks life is meaningless without him, so she's willing to give up literally anything for his continued presence in her life. It's honestly insane that people think this is a song about a healthy relationship
