04 - Solve Equations & Inequalities with Fractional Coefficients
View more at www.MathTutorDVD.com.
In this lesson, you will learn how to solve equations and inequalities that have fractional coefficients. A fractional coefficient means that the number before the variable in an equation is a fraction.
Fractional coefficients can make problems more complex to solve because when moving terms around in the equation you must add and subtract fractions.
You will learn how to do this by solving example problems, getting a common denominator for any fraction coefficients that need to be added.

he’s so underrated he explains very well fr
I got the coolest mathematical epiphany within the first 4 minutes of this video. Thank you so much for your work and videos, man.
You do an amazing job! You are helping me refresh on everything I need for my nursing TEAS exam! Thank you!
You are an award winning explainer 😊
Just wanted to say your channel is extremely helpful! Thank you for this content!
For the first problem, you could FIRST change all the fractions to common denominator 18, thus eliminating all fractions in one fell swoop, by multiplying both sides by 18.

Crystal Clear. Thank you very much Sir
This is great, now how do you cancel denominators when the fractions also have exponents? Do you also multiply the exponents along with the fraction or just the coefficients?
You are the best.
Thank you so much for making these video lessons! I cannot tell you how much you have helped with making things click. The way you explain things is very clear and easily digestible. Using the different colored markers for the various steps was also very helpful as well. Again, thank you SO much!

amazing channel, thanks so much
THANK YOU... SIR...!!! Fairly Easy...!!!
You explain it so well, I will now be able to help my Gr9 son with this concept 🥳
Thank you so much sir 🙏
Sir ..you are doing good job 👍

The amount of whiteboards he has is great 😆 clear and awesome vid!!
Thank you so much💯
its very good explanation sir
THANK YOU... SIR...!!!
Please keep making such vedios
@mathandscience I am just amazed how you made me love math we are doing a general math class in college for the beginning this is a general class u have to take! you are just amazing teacher how do u do this?i just understand everything everything i love alll your video.Greetings from Curacao/netherlands antilles from the intercontinental university of Curacao!

Why are we not finding the common denominator of x/9+1/6 in the first step since there is a + sign?
Thx
You do an amazing 😍😍😍
Thankyousir
wish i would have had this guy in 8th grade
I always watch this man video
why is it that when you carry 3t to meet 4t you did not carry -2 to meet 10 meaning grouping unknow together and the numbers together ?
at the 8:40sec where did he randomly get a 9 from to start multiplying ?

He picked the largest denominator to illustrate that this would lead to removing some of the fractions but not all, demonstrating the usefulness of multiplying by the lowest common denominator which will remove all of the fractions....
wonderrrrful
Sorry I'm late but can you please show the way of cross multiplication
What is there a variable and an exponent on the variable and a fraction
But sir 2t-1/6=t+2/4+1/3=? By transportation method. You showed it me in systematic method
Jason, You never answer my questions. Here is one: Do you plan to make video lessons concerning the following topics listed below? •High School Geometric Direct and Indirect Proofs •High School Geometric Constructions •Geometry and Trigonometry Applications •College Algebra Applications

Sorry, sometimes I get overwhelmed with emails and youtube comments. I really do want to do a proper Geometry course. I have a Geometry Tutor now but I don't cover all of the theorems and applications. I will do a real geometry course in the future with all theorems, etc, but it is challenging because there are hundreds of theorems to cover and then solve problems to use them. So the answer is yes! But I don't know yet when I can get to it. Thank you!

@@MathAndScience : BTW, I am 54 years old. I have 3 college diplomas in areas other than math. I have learned so much math watching your video lessons.
A simple observation :) when you multiple the right hand side of an equation the presentation might be confused with an exponent... small number on the top right hand side, I tend to write (n) then there's no confusion I'm multiplying by "n"

There's one problem when you DON'T use the "brute force" method and that is when you go to DOUBLE CHECK your work it can't be done any other way than using the "brute force" method to see if you arrived at the correct answer!!!
