03 - Solve Equations in Algebra by Taking Square Roots, Part 1
View more at www.MathTutorDVD.com.
In this lesson, you will learn how to solve equations in algebra that require the square root to be applied to both sides of the equation in order to isolate the variable.
This usually happens when the variable is squared on one side of the equal sign. Care must be taken when applying radicals to both sides to include both solutions (the principal square root and non-principal square root).
This is needed because the variable is squared and this will always lead to two solutions for the variable.

Your videos are incredibly helpful because of how in depth you go to explain everything. Thank you so much.
you are so amazing. Please do more videos. They are extremely useful and actually saving my life.... Thank you so much sir
4:11 y'all should take note of this
Very helpful
U r tremendous sir.now I could teach my child
Thank you for your insightful, deep dives into concepts that make it easier to digest what is happening.
Awesome!
Thank you👍🏻
THANK YOU... SIR...!!! Made it clear...!!!
Amazing content thank you for your help sir!
Thank you sir
Thank you
Why can't I use parentheses and put a minus in front of it to get a negative result? -(2)^2 = -4 or -(5)^2 = -25
Thank you for sharing your knowledge,GOD BLESS YOU.
Actually, JavaScript (ECMAScript 5.1 spec) distinguishes between +0 and -0. Let's presume it's one of its Good Parts ;-)
Fun fact: Zero is a concept I believe not even the Roman’s recognized. If memory serves me correctly, zero is a concept the Mayans or Aztecs discovered. …. I think.
❤❤❤❤best
What if the roots not square, it cubed?
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I was thinking (yes, dangerous), when you have a negative number in the radical...it is a negative number multiplied by itself and not an absolute value. Bad idea.
