I wish I had found this a long time ago. I am so thankful someone has finally explained overtones to me in a way that helps me achieve success with them instead of endless struggling. It is a relief! Thank you, and God bless you for sharing with others!

I can hear you... btw I will do a video for flute also... kind of the same thing. All my flute students know about harmonics, it's one of the first thing I teach them, it really improves their sound... you can play many notes with the same fingering!

Si perfecto! . Sucesso!

How come this video is under-watched? This is the BEST video I've seen on overtones so far. I hope you have a video on altissimo challenges! I am learning on tenor, been a couple of months now. I can play fairly well, not great with overtones yet, but I have serious issues getting the altissimo G! Tried all the tricks but nothing is working for me. I am beginning to believe that I am just not ready for it! :(

Sincerely, thank you for making this video. You're a great teacher, because you can clearly describe something that is very hard to describe. Oral exercises are like the harsh truths or fine print that aren't apparent when just watching or listening to someone play, and you've retained how you thought and felt when experimenting. I'm still working on the second range, and the transition from high A to low D is so hard at first. :)

I can see your technique in my head. I can’t practice much now (busy season) but the technical support is very needed. My sax teacher taught incubation. Muse on the info in your head, when you play, the info is back in full force. Great video! My teacher in college never taught overtones. A terrible mistake! Tom Kipfer

Great video! Really gotta work on the way I use my tongue and oral cavity. One question though: Aren't the high notes supposed to be really loud and big and the low notes less focused and more quiet? At least that's what I always thought sounded the prettiest.

That's really up to you. That's what will make you sound unique. Play what sounds the best to your ear and get better at being consistent. The beauty of it is that everyone has their personal approach.

Remi Bolduc Thank you. Great insight there. I'm really enjoying your transcriptions. If you should make some more videos on how to play and how to practice the saxophone in the future, I'd really appreciate benefiting from your skills and knowledge.
