Much appreciated the details you provided. The connector under the manifold did not reconnect firmly after a recent starter replacement, it became loose over a few days. We were about to give up on our 2003. Much appreciated.

Thank god for you🙏 I just saved my self a trip to the dealership I had already swapped the battery and alternator so I thought maybe it’s the electric load detector(eld) but when you said there was a fuse for it I had to check before buying it so I swapped it and it fixed my problem!

This saved me from towing my car and I fixed it my self with your help. Thank you so much.

This was awesome man.. I replaced my alternator and battery and still was having charging issue. I looked at the yellow black wire first like you suggested and noticed that wire was almost pulled out from the clip. So even though the clip was connected to the alternator the black and yellow wire wasn't making contact.. I just pressed the wire back in their. Connected the clip back to the alternator and everything was charging correctly. I was about to take the honda element to the shop because I couldn't figure out what it was. Thanks for the help

Thank you so much for advice. I got my car on the road after 1 week, a new battery and 2 brand new alternators. So glad shop said they were full, I’m sure I would of been charged and arm and a leg for a $2 problem

Wait music will make your alternator because I just bought a 2006 and a new alternator and a new battery and it's still doing the same thing I'm going to change the fuse tomorrow fuse 21 7.5 and 18 .15

It might be the same solution for a honda accord 2008 v6 ? I already replaced the alternator 2 times and now there’s something wrong, battery it’s almost new don’t even have a year or almost a year and the alternator as well. I started the car with no problem and then turned it off, when i tried to started again wont start. I jumped and the car started with no problem when i got gome the car was on and I unplugged the black pole from the battery and the car continued on then i put it back and turned the car off and tried to start and won’t start at all. Before this happened i was able to see a battery sign on the dashboard going on and off during all this months after the second alternator was replaced and the car was working normally with no problem till today. I think there’s something draining my battery or the alternator. Need help

Same thing just check the wire that come from the eld if its has 12v i it doesnt you can apply 12 from the battery and see if it charge if doesnt your alternator its not good

Addytionally, I would like to ask for your help. I have checked a voltage between battery (+) and a yellow-green cabel (altern) with an admission turned on. There is 0.05V. Without addmission is 11.96V (but battery is weaker at the moment and have 12V). Unfortunately I didn't see any kick fuse for alternator (I've got accord 2.0 2003) So, what I understood is I need to check the cables and connectors between main fuse's box and the alternator, yes?

Check connector side yellow black on alternator if you get voltage there with key on everything its good change alternator even though the battery its weak as long you start the car with a jump and this keeps on check the voltage out put on alternator should be 13.6v to 14v if this doesn't die you need a new battery..a good alternator with the car running its should put out a 13v to 14v ...if you dont get 12v anything 5v up in this black and yellow wire need to trace back to the connector if still nothing go inside and check the fuse for the alternator..that wire should have the same voltage as the battery..hope this help

Eld its a brown box on the fuse box where those batterie wire joint..look for honda eld ( electric load detector) but first check the fuse inside the kick panel and trace back to the connector by lower intake

I have a 2008 Toyota Corolla and battery light keep coming on I replace the alt intake bought a new battery

My o7 Honda Accord will go several days & then will not start. Want turn over, dose not make a sound. Like the alternator is not recharging the battery. But will except a boost m, start right up and goes a week or so & then the same thing. What do you suggest?

I would make a load test on the battery and monitor the voltage on the alternator for 40 to a 1hour checking if the voltage drop if everything goes well check if anything stays on like phone chargers or radio etc. Good luck

I have a regular voltmeter so im assuming id set it black in common red in v/ohm lead spot far right, ? setting for 12v or 20 since that's the closest in the range given. Run the common or black lead to battery negative aka ground red to black and yellow at alternator plug, check reading, start car, check reading correct? 12g being the magic number we want to see in both cases. Also how are you getting a reading off that blk yellow wire- did you poke a hole into it or did you get the lead end through the rubber seal to the pin

The wire its not making connection.. you will make sure you have 12v if you don't the fuse its blown if you have 12v your alternator its not good

Hi happy day. I am having same problem 05 Honda Accord 2.4 liter. How can the short in the wire be fix? Swap two new alternator same problem. Also airbag light and mass airflow volume air flow a circuit low error code PO102 code on obd reader. Please help been three days now.

You can supply 12 volts to it but i think your ELD its bad look it thats whats its call it electric load detector eld..if you supply 12 to that wire your alternator will be on the whole time..

Could a guy not just cut the black yellow from the main harness and toss a relay in there to provide ignition switched power? I have this issue on a friend's car.. fuse was blown.. for a reason.. I get ground on the black yellow but can energize the alt if I put direct power to the black yellow on the alt side of things.. get 14+ volts

You can do that too.but im not sure if you will get a check engine for the eld relay..

I might but to by pass it you would need to put one cable with ignition on if you do it from the battery your alternator would short out and would drain ur battery over night so..cut the wire and look for a fuse that goes on when u put ur ignition on and should work

So, if you get 12 volts to the yellow/black wire where it attaches to the alternator (from the negative battery terminal ) with the ignition switch on, you can assume that the fuse and connector are good right?

The yellow and black wire comes from fuse 18 inside the fuse box and it joint with another wire to the electric load detector then runs to the connector on the alternator ..and yes if you have 12v at ignition on the black and yellow wire u have verified 3 things ...the fuse 18 at the kick panel its good..2 u dont havea short 3 u have a bad alternator

Simple system 12v at ignition from fuse 18 to the outside then joint with electric load detector at the outside fuse box from there runs to the alternator plug black and yellow

@@SamsAutomotiveS Ok, I am totally blind ... it was 2 NOT 12 volts to the black/yellow wire with ignition on and 0 with ignition off?? Fuse 18 is indeed good. I checked multiple times ... I kind of thought it would be either 0 or 12 volts ... nothing in between. Thoughts? AND thank you for your quick reply!!!!!!!!!

So if you dont have 12v at the yellow/blackyou need to trace it back there is a conector down the intake check there if not make a new wire with 12v on the ignition and the alternator should start working..

This one is gonna really messed you guys up I have an 02 acura rsx type S New engine harness ktuned New charge harness ktuned and oem New engine gnds and extras Alternator charging but light wont come off So cel no eld codes no dtcs I don’t know second alt and this one is charging 13.6 running Im stumped car is a motorsport shop as we speak
