Basra, Iraq ➖ They say Iraqi hospitality is the best in the world, and I'm experiencing it first hand here in Basra. I decided to get a quick shave to bring back the babyface, it soon turned into a face mask and massage. But what amazed me most was that these friendly barbers refused to accept any form of payment, no matter how hard I tried. Another example of the amazing hospitality here in Iraq!

Ive been. I know how the people are . So kind and sweet. They are so welcoming and if you're a foreigner, you don't have to spend much money at all. Great food. Any services, great quality. A lot to see and do. But the people are the best. Probably in the world. Peaceful.

Luke you are young. Learn to take a gift as graciously as you give to others. The barber wanted the good feeling when he gives. Don’t fight it young man. Let him and others have a chance to feel like you do when you give generous tips. 😀

Except Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, UAE. Travel to any country that is a popular destination for tourism, regardless of religion, and you will be scammed and overcharged. But when you travel to a country with little tourism, then you will be honored and treated with kindness, because the natives are surprised and enjoy interacting with someone different.
